Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Because hawks eat rats and mice, with no hawks to keep down their numbers, the rats and mice multiplied quickly.
Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. Quite a few countries have passed laws. These laws forbid the killing of any animal or planton the danger list. Slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.

Students at Shanghai's Fudan University are raising money for a poor postgraate from Laos who was diagnosed with a fatal blood disease this summer.
Bouphalyvanh Bounmy, a postgraate in Fudan's law school, noticed his teeth were bleeding this summer. Doctors at Changhai Hospital diagnosed him on August 29 with acute aplastic anemia, a mysterious blood disease that wipes out bone marrow.
Doctors said Bounmy could return to his home country for treatment, but flying could lead to massive hemorrhaging e to the high pressure in an airplane cabin.
His other option is to undergo a bone marrow transplant in the city, which is expected to cost about 350,000 yuan (US$43,750).
Bounmy, who is in his 30s, is studying on a government scholarship that includes medical insurance, which would cover about 100,000 yuan of his medical bill.
He can't afford the rest of the bill by himself, however, so his fellow students are raising money for him.
"Bounmy impressed us with his hard work and excellent performance. All the faculty and students are very sympathetic toward him," said Yang Zengguo, deputy director of Fudan's foreign students office.
To raise money for Bounmy, Fudan has set up a donation box at the foreign student dorm building and opened a hotline for donations. Students also launched a fund-raising campaign on the university's Handan campus yesterday.
The campus-wide campaign, which is named "International Salvage," marks the first time Fun students have raised money for a foreign student at the school, said Yang.
Currently, Bounmy is undergoing plasma transfusions at Changhai Hospital. Doctors are in talks with his family and the Laos government on further medical treatment.

At our school , we have to wear uniforms every day. The problem is that all my classmates think the uniforms are ugly. We should feel more comfortable and thate is good for studying. If we can’t do that, we should be allowed to design our own uniforms. We also think everyone should be different from others. My opinions on volunteering
We are middle school students and we are busy with our lessons. So some people think we should concentrate more on our studies. If we volunteer to help others, it’s a waste of time. But I think volunteering is great. I not only feel good about helping others but also get to spend time doing what I love to do. And from volunteering I have learned many things that I have never learned in class. So if I have an oppoutunity, I’d like to visit old people’s home to clean up for them. I’d also like to help sick kids in hospital. I love kids and I plan to put my love to good use by working in hospital. In a word, I’d like to help people who need help. If everyone helps out a bit, the world will be more colorful.
Small kinds

Last week our class had a class meeting.At the meeting,all the students expressed their opinious on how to help homeless people.These were we thought about altogether.
First one was raise money.We can raise money and then give the money to those homeless people,won't be enough for buying a new house for them,but at least can help them survive for a short term.We also can give clothes to them,too.Lots of homeless people don't have warm clothes to help them spend time in winter,so if we give some clothes that we don't want or don't fit us anymore to them,they will be really appreciate.
Another idea was that we can find their homes and send them back.This idea is really hard to achieve,but still works.We can use the internet or some other sources to find out their homes if there it is one,and we can send them home to their families.
We really wanted to help them.
