On Diligence
It is the ty of every man to work. The life of a lazy man is of no use to himself and to others. The man who is too lazy to work is the man who's generally most ready to beg or to steal. Every boy when he is young should learn some useful work. But it is not enough that a boy should learn some kind of work. He should put his heart and soul completely into his work, and not waste his spare time. "Work while you work and play while you play" is as good a rule for young people as for the old. There is no better help to diligence than the habit of early rising, which just like all other good habits is most easily formed in youth. There is an English saying, "Lost time never returns." This means that everybody must be diligent, and make good use of his time. One must study hard when he isyoung so that he may make great progress, succeed in life and become useful to his country. Therefore, we say that diligence Is the mother of success.

Learning english can be a very difficult task for most people, this is because we dont live in a environment where we are forced to speak or write english. so i think the best way to learn english is by communicating with others using the lagnguage itself and not just learn from the book. Im sure if you live in an environment such as a foreign country and were forced to speak and write english everyday then your english will imprve dramatically. Although we must agree that we need to read and write english from the book in order to get the foundations that we need for basic communication, this is essential but as i said, this is only a foundation, what you develop afterwards all depends on your ability to adapt to an environment and your courage.

其实，关于儿童英语学习，目前有很多观点一直被争论着，比如，孩子多大开始学英文好？孩子太小学英语对母语是否会造成干扰？幼儿究竟有没有必要学英文？幼儿学英文是选一套好的教材好，还是父母平时多与孩子说口语就可以了？等等，相信每位家长都有自己的看法。我认为，孩子和孩子不一样，家长尤其要有自己的主见，适用于别的孩子身上的方法不一定对自己的孩子有效。这就要家长自己摸索出一套适合自己孩子的学习方法。
同样是幼儿园上英语课，有的孩子就可以跟随老师的节奏互动，积极配合，学习效果也非常明显。而有的孩子就不是很欢，甚至出现厌烦情绪。同样一套教材，有的孩子会非常欢着迷，回家又听磁带又看VCD；而有的孩子就会不听也不看。同样也是家长在家里与孩子说英语口语，有的孩子就会很容易接受，并能听懂和应用；而有的孩子就很反感，拒绝妈妈再成天唠叨“鸟语”。这就需要有心、细心和耐心的家长去寻找一个最适合自己孩子的方法。我的观点是：对于幼儿，如果你想让孩子接受英语，那就最好是不把英语当作一种语言去学习，而是纯粹的娱乐，就象画画和看书一样自然，是一种享受和乐趣，比如看原版的动画片，听英文歌曲和童谣，讲英文故事等，平时和他说些简单的英语口语，感觉这些都是很自然的东西。这也是从我家雨点儿身上总结出来的。
的确，目前很多家长为了孩子学外语，往往会一种盲目和从众的心理。看到别人都在学，生怕自己的孩子不学就会落后，或者感觉对不起孩子。其实顺其自然最好啦，发现孩子欢什么，对什么感兴趣，就尽自己所能给他提供什么，这就足够了。我们教育孩子，不是为了培养一个学者，身心都健康我就知足啦！

儿童学习英语是越早越好吗?
语言是孩子思维的窗口，代表了孩子心理发育的水平，家长都非常关注孩子语言能力的发展，加上如今对外交往的日益增加，大家更加关注孩子英语的学习，例如，双语幼儿园、剑桥英语学校、阶梯英语教学等等，一时间全民学英语，从娃娃开始学英语，效果到底好不好，对孩子的心智成长有什么利弊呢？
从小学习语言对掌握该语言无疑是好的，但关键是孩子应该在早期主要掌握什么语言？当然是首先掌握好母语。语言专家研究表明：当孩子的大脑忙于掌握语言，如果训练过度，必然会压抑抽象逻辑思维能力的发展，所以，语言能力强、外语好的孩子，数学、物理学习往往却很吃力，学习成绩偏科。所以，不能一味训练孩子的语言能力，反而限制了其它能力的发展。
家长认为语言训练有助于提高孩子的智力，然而，心理学家研究表明：人的智力是注意力、观察力、记忆力、想象力、思维能力和操作能力的综合。儿童在进行智力活动时，这几种能力都在发挥自己的作用。而每种能力的发展水平又会影响到其他能力的发展，甚至影响整个智力的发展。例如，一个孩子的注意力差，不能很好地集中在一件事情上，那么，他就不能认真观察事物，不能很好地记住事物的特征，不能产生完整的想象，更不能进行连续的思维，所以，有些家长觉得自己的孩子看上去挺聪明，可就是学习成绩不理想，其实就是因为孩子的注意力不集中所造成的。心理学家在对孩子的学习能力进行训练时，要测验孩子的智能发展水平和注意力集中程度，然后进行有针对性的训练，而不是只注重语言的训练。
家长在训练孩子语言能力时，难免要注重记忆力的培养，让孩子背古诗、识很多字、记地图等，但往往忽略了孩子其他能力的培养，所以，有些孩子背课文很快，但不解其意，不动脑筋，不善思考。有些家长重视孩子读、写、算的能力培养，却不注意孩子手的操作能力的训练，故而影响了孩子抽象思维能力的发展和自信心的培养，还会影响孩子适应社会的能力。
创造力是智力的最佳表现，也是衡量智力水平和发展前途的重要标志。调查发现，一个欧洲国家，国人自小就会至少3种语言，相当多的人会7种语言，但是，这个国家很少出文学家、发明家等创造性人才，因为语言的过度训练把人的大脑格式化了。那么，现在的家长就要注意，莫让语言训练阻碍了孩子创造能力的发展。
孩子的语言学习和掌握是需要必要的环境的，现在这么小就学外语，但又没有机会去练习，语言是在使用中学会的，但是现在的孩子根本没有锻炼外语的机会，使用语言又能使孩子有兴趣学习。所以，很多孩子觉得单调乏味，有的孩子学得快忘得快，如果这么早学习的语言最终是要因为很少使用而被忘记，那为什么还要牺牲孩子宝贵的玩耍时间呢？
