Is Television a Blessing or a Curse?
Now, it is generally accepted that television plays an important role in people's lives. But there is an ongoing heated discussion as to whether television is a blessing or a curse.
As is often pointed out by some people, television keeps one better informed about current events, allows one to follow the latest development in politics and science, and offers and endless series of programs which are both instructive and interesting. The most distant countries, the strangest customs and the most attractive scenes of nature are brought right into one's room.
However, other people insist that television is a curse rather than a blessing. They argue that it has brought about many serious problems. The major one is its effects on young people. They are now so used to getting their information, ecation and entertainment from television that their literacy as well as physical ability has been greatly weakened. Even worse than that, vulgar commercials and indecent programs may cultivate their bad tastes, distort their viewpoints towards human life to such a degree that their minds might be corrupted.
In summary, television has both advantages and disadvantages. Whatever effects it has, one thing is certain, television in itself is neither good nor bad. It is the use to which it is put that determines its value to society.

Olympic Games English Composition

The Olympic Games (often referred to simply as The Olympics or The Games) is an international multi-sport event subdivided into summer and winter sporting events. The summer and winter games are each held every four years. Until 1992, they were held in the same year. Since then, they have been celebrated two years apart.

The original Olympic Games began in 776 BCE in Olympia, Greece, and were celebrated until CE 393. In 1896, the ancient Olympic Games were revived at the initiative of a French nobleman, Pierre Fré, Baron de Coubertin, thus beginning the era of the Modern Olympic Games.Since the first modern games, in Athens, Greece, participation in the Olympic Games has increased to include athletes from nearly all nations worldwide.

With the improvement of satellite communications and global telecasts of the events, the Olympics are consistently gaining supporters.The most recent Summer Olympics were the 2004 Games in Athens and the most recent Winter Olympics were the 2006 Games in Turin. The upcoming games in Beijing are planned to comprise 302 events in 28 sports. As of 2006, the Winter Olympics were competed in 84 events in 7 sports.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Internet

The following aspects could best illustrate the advantages of Internet. Netsurfers in different countries can share interesting knowledge and the latest information. Besides, Internet has provided a major opportunity to buy and sell merchandise . What is more, people may get medical help or even vote on Internet. Its advantages seem countless.

Behind all this glowing talk, however, are some problems. Internet makes people passive by stopping them making their own entertainment. So much so that when there is a breakdown or jam, people may find that World Wide Web turns into World Wide Wait. What is worse, some children have access to the scenes of violence and sex. Apart from these, it can be affected by viruses and hackers.

We should handle its problems, meanwhile we should exploit its potential as well. With proper management of Internet people ought to experience more fruits of the information revolution. All the wisdom of the ages, all the information that has enlightened mankind for centuries, should be available to us with the healthy development of Internet.

The Strength of Belief

On January 29th, the first day of the Chinese year, grandma took me to the Yade Buddha Temple to pray for being able to have a lucky year.

The whole city was dipped in warm light, when we arrived. God! I hardly made out this temple because the whole block was filled with people. We could move our feet just a little at a time. Now you may have the idea how many people there were. But it was amazing that the crowd was so quiet. Worshippers, one by one, seriously knelt down before the statue of the Buddha.

I thought that I hadn’t done anything as earnestly as them when I saw those worshippers praying so devoutly. Everyone kept quiet, closed his eyes. I seemed like that there was only him in this world. I was shocked. From them, I felt the strength of belief. I learnt that not only the belief of the Buddhism, but also the beliefs of all the beautiful things can enable us to be successful. Once we get our belief, the eternal spirit shall help us overcome all the difficulties we might meet with.

第二行来that这样引导定从不对，换成about
第四自行sell及物动词，后面要加宾语，前后分局不是因果关系，用so链接不合适，选用however比较好
第八行collect当收集讲，这里要是想表示保留最好使用keep
第九行give away表示赠送的时候需要接to
第十一行sell them to store to exchange

总的来说还是一片比较通顺的文章，从高考角度讲大约在二档中偏下的位置，使用的词组较恰当，但是巨型过于单一并且还有错误，建议引入同位语从句和强调句，单词过于简单，如果你的作文打算求稳这样既基本可以，如果要夺高分，就要使用一些高阶词汇和高级句子，比如提建议可引入虚拟语气，连接词还应更恰当，使文章更紧密。

本文谓语及非谓语使用错误2处，扣1分；拼写错误两处，扣1分；语法、大小写、用词不当各一处，扣1.5；另外字数方面多余或少于规定字数20个也在总分中扣去2分；综上，本文得分16—17分。
一、审题：三个要点：描述事件、分析现象、提出建议，作者在三方面均有涉及，基本分可以拿到。（14分）
遗憾的是，分析欠深入，建议着墨稍多。
二、结构：明显头重脚轻，影响阅卷人第一印象。应将篇幅布局匀称化。

①：此处缺连词，衔接不当，补上 in the meanwhile
②应用heard
③应用walking 非谓语的运用要逻辑缜密
④多了一个s
⑤ignore doing sth.

⑦拼写错误，应为furthermore

高考英语作文评分标准
1 总分为25分，按5个档次给分。
2 评分时，先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量，确定或调整档次，最后给分。
3 词数少于 80和多于 120的，从总分中减去2分。
4 评分时，应注意的主要内容为：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量和准确性、上下文的连贯性及语言的得体性。
5 拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写汉词汇用法均可接受。
6 如书写较差，以至影响交际，将分数降低一个档次。
7 内容要点可用不同方式表达，对紧扣主题的适当发挥不予扣分。
先来说你的语法问题，正如图片所示as is shown in the picture,而不是at the picture;看着路标是looking而不是looks,后面的knowing之前应该加个and.首字母大写Here.第二段whose parents而不是who,让某人失望let sb down更地道一些.What we also should do is to learn......第二段第三行it is前面加个because...other skills.这算作一道提建议的作文，第一第二第三最后说法略显老套，要我打分就在及格边缘咯。

总体上来看，文章写的是有一定水平的，不过作为一篇好的作文评价，我回觉得有一点你要注意，答那就是文章一定不要消极，例如：I hate, I hate a thing,which is called lifetime,is a short life.这一句你要表达的心情我能够理解，毕竟生命是宝贵的，它很短暂，能不能发挥它的价值，就看你是怎样看待它的，我个人认为诸如If I could live in the world for ever……，If I could live in the world for ever……这些句子应该在作文中（尤其是大型考试的作文）尽量不要出现，文章应尽量表现出积极的，向上的生活态度和价值观，另外文中：北戴河 这个词一定要用 Beidaihe，不要用中文，其他的注意语法和单词拼写就可以了，it was very bright WITH the black cloud.大写部分个人认为改为IN 或 ON比较合适。
