3、棍棒型

又称鳗鱼型。这类鱼头尾轴特别长，而左右轴和腹轴几乎相等，都很短，使整个体形呈棍棒状。其游泳能力较侧扁型和平扁型强。适于在水底泥土中穴居和水底砂石中生活。如：黄鳝、鳗鲡及多种海鳗

4、平扁型

这类鱼的三个体轴中，左右轴特别长，背腹轴很短，使体型呈上下扁平，行动迟缓，不如前两型灵活，多营底栖生活。如：魟、鳐、鮟鱇和鲇等。
