Tennis as the modern sport can be dated to two separate roots. Between 1859 and 1865, Major Harry Gem and his friend Augurio Perera developed a game that combined elements of rackets and the Basque ball game pelota, which they played on Perera's croquet lawn in Birmingham, England.[2] [3] In 1872, along with two local doctors, they founded the world's first tennis club in Leamington Spa.[4] The Courier of 23 July 1884 recorded one of the first tennis tournaments, held in the grounds of Shrubland Hall.[5]
In December 1873, Major Walter Clopton Wingfield designed a similar game — which he called sphairistike (Greek σφάίρίστική, skill at playing at ball), and was soon known simply as "sticky" — for the amusement of his guests at a garden party on his estate of Nantclwyd, in Llanelidan, Wales.[6] He based the game on the older sport of indoor tennis or real tennis. According to most tennis historians, modern tennis terminology also derives from this period, as Wingfield borrowed both the name and much of the French vocabulary of real tennis and applied them to his new game.
The first championships at Wimbledon, in London were played in 1877.[7] On May 21, 1881, the United States National Lawn Tennis Association (now the United States Tennis Association) was formed to standardize the rules and organize competitions.[8] The U.S. National Men's Singles Championship, now the U.S. Open, was first held in 1881 at Newport, Rhode Island.[9] The U.S. National Women's Singles Championships were first held in 1887.[10] Tennis was also popular in France, where the French Open dates to 1891.[11] Thus, Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open (dating to 1905) became and have remained the most prestigious events in tennis.[12][13] Together these four events are called the Grand Slam (a term borrowed from bridge).[14] The comprehensive International Lawn Tennis Federation rules promulgated in 1924 have remained remarkably stable in the ensuing eighty years, the one major change being the addition of the tie-breaker system designed by James Van Alen.[15] The Davis Cup, an annual competition between national teams, dates to 1900.[16]
In 1926, promoter C.C. Pyle established the first professional tennis tour with a group of American and French tennis players playing exhibition matches to paying audiences.[13] [17] The most notable of these early professionals were the American Vinnie Richards and the Frenchwoman Suzanne Lenglen.[13] [18] Once a player turned pro he or she could not compete in the major (amateur) tournaments.[13]
In 1968, commercial pressures and rumors of some amateurs taking money under the table led to the abandonment of this distinction, inaugurating the open era, in which all players could compete in all tournaments, and top players were able to make their living from tennis.[19] With the beginning of the open era, the establishment of an international professional tennis circuit, and revenues from the sale of television rights, tennis has spread all over the world and has lost its upper-class English-speaking image.
In 1954, Van Alen founded the International Tennis Hall of Fame, a non-profit museum in Newport, Rhode Island.[20] The building contains a large collection of tennis memorabilia as well as a hall of fame honoring prominent members and tennis players from all over the world. Each year, a grass-court tournament and an inction ceremony honoring new Hall of Fame members are hosted on its grounds.

The difference between ecation in China and America
Everyone must be ecated, that is the basic ty of a good citizen. However, different environments involve different ecation. I was born in China. My cousin was born in America. We recently had a discussion about the difference between ecation in China and America. As a matter of fact, our discussion can be classified in three principal ways: the attitude of parents, the method of school, and the objective of ecation.
The first point of discussion was the attitude of parents. In China, when children’ exams are not as good as their parents hoped, most parents criticize and intimidate their children: If the next exam has the same result as this exam, children will lose some of their favorite things, such as their computer, mp3 player, or even their precious basketball. This is terrible for children. Children would be mad at their parents in this bad situation but their parents tend not to care. This mortifies children. In America, when children fail their exams, most parents encourage and inspire their children. Failure is inevitable for success. They will do better than before because of this encouragement.
Another discussion point is the method of school. In China, students have fewer courses. They can do better than students of other countries in these courses, but Chinese students lack the knowledge and creativity of foreign students. However, in America, students have a lot of courses which can broaden their horizons. They have broader knowledge in certain fields of study than Chinese students, such as philosophy and the arts, but they are not better at math than Chinese students. Chinese students lack a certain amount of ecational freedom which Americans enjoy.
Finally, the two different ecation systems have two different kinds of objectives. In China, people believe that going to school and graating from college is only for the diploma. When students graate from college, the diploma is most important for finding a job. In America, students go to school not only to obtain a diploma, but to also gain other types of knowledge by taking many different courses. They strive to find their unique potential in life, so they can decide what job they want to have in the future.
In the end, my cousin and I knew that the advantages and disadvantages of different ecation systems between China and America. Chinese students can do better at few courses than American students. But their ecation is Exam-oriented, which will fall into disuse as time goes by. American ecation is flexible, which can be approved by a great majority of people. Consequently, I and my cousin agreed that American ecation is better.

一百天弹指一挥间，为此我把一天分成一百份，同学们，我们还有一万份时间，怕什么，加油，过好每一份时间，付出一万倍的努力，高山在脚下，学海任我行。
口号是打气的。方法是给力的。学习是靠自己的。
学习每四十五分或一个小时换一科，保证脑子活力。
看看我的超级 无敌四板斧。这我一般是给初三和高三的发送建议，方法是相通的。
超级无敌应对考试第一招：看着很简单，注意，好的实用有效的方法一定是简单的，但是相当有效，都是属于一开始看着很耗时，很伤脑筋，但一旦执行下去，成果是显著的，信心马上上来了，明白这个方法很给力。综合到结果是省时间的。
就这招我为高三学子推荐过，简单有效，得到好评。快速提高自信和成绩。这招看着十分功利，仅仅为了考试，是学习大战略中的小战术，是后面合集中的重炮轰击。(废话多，是因为要强调在战略的高度上，认识这个小战术的积极意义。)
具体内容：：：：找到刚考完的卷子要有正确答案的，全都背下来，要能做到考这套卷子，除了作文和发挥乱扯题（最好作文和发挥题也有正确的答案或好文章，乱扯中好的）。我要接近满分，每次大考的卷子尽量同等待遇，第一套一定要背下来，这是底线，让自己熟悉考题，考点，了解不足，还有出这套题我是能得第一的。这要达到什么程度，最好是能默写，一张卷子从头到尾默背，想想就超牛和无敌。
绝大多数学生，往往刚考完老师讲过的卷子也能答个七七八八，好像都会了。如果过上一段时间再考的话，就会发现考好的仍会是那些原来考这套卷子不错的，而且还会产生新的错误，大家都是过眼云烟。这招就是要把知识夯实了，把考过的这个卷子对你的积极影响最大化。
举例说明：语文考试，基础，问的是辛弃疾，这时我们要把考卷上的问答背牢靠，同时看看辛弃疾的我们学过的诗词和知识点。同时走马观花的看看苏轼，王安石，李白，什么的，要快，重点还是卷子，那些是拓展，是举一反三，是整套卷子背下来后的铁底上的拔高。古文诗词也是类似的，考过的要背下来，后面由填写一句，扩展到全词，全文。象孔子的子曰，背下来，可以用于作文的。阅读理解题，可以连问题带答案都背下来，然后再分析哪里自己想的不够深。不背下来，永远都是一看，啊，是这么回事。是怎么回事，是一种肤浅的判断，下次仍然是糊涂的。脑子里有正确的，才可能想的靠谱，才能真正知道真的是这么回事。一想思路，脑海里可以出现提问和回答，再有自己思路，这样才会更深的理解其中的奥妙，叫知其然，更知其所以然。阅读题有点象八股文，要对题，破题，象答政治题，要答对带点。还有这个背诵也为了作文，积累知识和素材。作文一是能背，背说明文、议论文、记叙文、散文，脑子要有东西，每个都要有几篇范文，课本也行还有老师以往的分析，考试题阅读理解也不错的，自己已经分析个透彻了，二是敢写，然后改写，比对范文找出差距。要多看，没事就看文章，背下来最好，时间不够，就一天看一篇（可重复反复的看），能分析分析分析，能写一句心得，就来一句。三个半月后，总的看语文是没什么问题的。
在一套卷子的基础上，掌握语文，英语，数学，物理，化学，历史，政治基本考点，自己号到考试的脉搏，它已被分析和拿下，中考对你打开了一扇窗，没那么吓人的。

1、养成早睡早起的生活习惯，列宁说过，不会休息的不会工作。同样，休息不好，也不会学习好。熬夜破坏生物钟，而且跟中考时间也不合拍。 睡眠时间要适度，不能疲劳学习，本来就难记，疲劳了更是浪费时间。中午不能午睡的话，也要散步几分钟不要大活动，影响胃部刚吃完饭，剧烈运动影响下午学习。 每天吃一个核桃和鸡蛋，补脑子，多了反而不好。
2、会锻炼，让自己有个好身体，敏捷的思维，旺盛的精力。慢跑，跳绳，广播体操等等，最好是广播体操，不会抻着，时间短，还全身活动开了，早晚至少一次。身体是学习支持，不能生病，不能累垮，不可以抗不住。
3、建议特意在学累了时看看幽默笑话，既带来快乐，也带来思维的跳跃，会放松，学习的弦，才能绷紧，不至于疲劳。
4、在家早晚认真做几遍眼保健操，主要是学校不好洗干净手，按视频作，手指基本不会弄到眼里的，在学校太特了。一周吃一两次猪肝，羊肝之类的。
