English is one of the main courses learnt from elementry school to college. I think the withdrawing of English test from the college entrance exam has both advantages and dawbacks.
Obviously, students suffer from great pressure nowadays, both from parents and schools. On school days, they are taking classes at school all day long; ring holidays, their parents take them to different English tutoring organizations such as New Oriental. It is the very reason that New Oriental is so prosperous. However, this great burden and anxiety will be obviously reced with the withdrawing of English test, students will have more free time to relax.
Unfortunately, the disappearance of English test in the college entrance exam lower the importance of English study. As a result, Student and even the schools may not take English class seriously any more. Nontheless, English as a language using all around the world is still very important. If it is not learned or teached properly, students' English will not be as good as before, which will be bad for their future.
Finally, English is and will always be an important subjuct. No matter the exam exists or not, we should learn it well.
