那时候，人们把考上大学看成是光宗耀祖的事，就像古代中了状元一样，即使是能考个中专也很了不起。国家拿钱让你上大学，毕了业又包分配，成了国家干部。但是上世纪八十年代，国家贫困落后，上高中成为一个奢望，更不用说上大学了。全河南省只有一万多考生有机会上大学，可见那时候大学是多么难考。
我那时候唯一奢望的是能考上大学。我身体不好，所以就把全部希望寄托到考大学上，希望考上大学跳出“农门”。
英语成绩上不去我很着急，我下决心自学！我把初一到高中的英语课本都找出来，从最基础学起。早上五点多起床，先锻炼身体，然后在路灯下背书。其它时间一有空，就把书上的句子译成汉语，再合上课本把汉语译成英语，反复练习。默写单词，课文，没有本子，就找旧报纸来用。反正用完了后，还可以卖钱。

说说我的英语学习
今天一早起来准备和老外一起去爬长城。说起长城，实在惭愧，兄弟我来北京3年半了，一直都没能空出时间逛逛走走，只是垒过一次长城，胡过一把清一色，却没有真正看过长城墙边的景，拔过长城墙头的草。所以我也刚好借着这次机会充实一下个人阅历。我们准备上午去爬八达岭长城，中午就在那边吃饭，然后下午在回来的路上顺便去十三陵挖墓，怎么样，这个计划不错吧？

早上8点半，我先和导游，司机在酒店门口集合，然后去找石教授夫妇。在大厅里我碰见了石太太——超级玛丽夫人，她一见我就非常亲切的问候了一句：“How are you？”我听了一愣：嗯？How are you——怎么是你？顿了5秒钟才反应过来，赶紧回了一句I'm OK。汗死，看来以后joke版得少去了。

在酒店房间碰到石教授的时候，他正在收拾行李，我本想在外面等他，可他把我叫住，递给我一本英文的旅游手册，说这手册是他在美国买的，上面说在北京附近有一个叫慕田峪的长城比八达岭好，问我可不可以去这个地方玩。慕田峪？我听都没听说过，只好先去问问。

下楼找到司机师傅：“师傅，慕田峪长城在哪里？”“在慕田峪呗。”“哦，好吧。”我又找到导游小姐：“导游小姐，慕田峪长城好吗？”“比八达岭人少。”“风景怎么样？”“长城就是一堆石头，都一个样。”“哦，好吧。”就这样八达岭变成了慕田峪，十三陵的墓挖不成了。

趁着石教授收拾行李的工夫，玛丽找我聊天，也许是她注意到前几天一起吃西餐时我没有参与有关政治话题的讨论，所以很好奇的问我是不是不关心政治？中国人是不是普遍不怎么关心政治？

我听完了忽然有些激动，很想回问她一句：“Are me kidding you？”像我这样一个极具理想主义色彩浪漫主义色彩爱国主义色彩以及各种色彩的有志文学小青年，怎么可能关心政治？想当初兄弟我有着多么惨绝人寰的过去，我考了三次研究生，却有两次政治不及格，第三次拼了老命才考了一个65分，啊，回忆起来直到现在我都很受伤，政治是我心中永远的痛！我躲都躲不及，又怎么敢再去关心它？！全中国有十几亿人，爱谁关心谁关心，反正我tmd这辈子是再也不敢了。

咳咳，不好意思，冲动是魔鬼，要克制，嗯，要冷静。

最后，我只是面带微笑心平气和的告诉她，中国有十几亿人，如果每个人都关心政治，这个国家会乱套di（mess）。所以大多数老百姓对政治并不关心。而且呢，中国穷人多，大多数人对自己衣食住行的问题还招呼不过来呢，怎么还会有那些闲情逸致？（当然我的英语原话不是这么说的，我的英语水平还达不到出口就带成语的程度，这只是大意）。玛丽听了就没有再问。

石教授收拾好了，我们5个人坐一辆轿车，奥迪A6，就是牌子上有好几个环那种车（是叫奥迪A6吧？），石教授夫妇看到这车，觉得很有派头，跟我说这个车很nice，我倒没什么感觉，因为我老土，奥迪和夏利哪个车贵着急我都弄不清楚。。。。。

上了车我和不会讲英语的司机师傅坐前排，导游陪俩老外坐后排，这样在路上主要是他们仨聊，我可以好好歇歇（咱找导游就是为了这个！）。

这个女导游年纪跟我相仿，本科是英语专业的，据她说她干导游3年多了，带过无数的外国客人。可是据我观察，她的口语发音并没有我想象中那么好，至少以我上次作为人民群众偷窥科学院英语大赛注意到的情况看来，科院有很多理工科的女孩子英语发音水平都在她之上。所以还是那句话，不要迷信专业！

一路上石太太给导游讲述他们来中国的行程，来北京之前，他们先去了杭州，又爬了黄山，可是杭州的“州”字跟黄山的“山”字，她总是说不准。导游试图教他们两句中文，纠正一下这两个字的发音，未果。在这关键时刻我又出嘴了，我说杭州的“州”和joke的jo发音差不多，黄山的“山”和shampoo的sham发音差不多，于是问题迎刃而解，连老外都说“it helps”，噢耶！导游在一边笑翻了。

讲到这里我想起了小时候学英语时的笑话，那时候流行用中文发音相近的词套英文，比如“See you tomorrow”会被人念作“谁又偷猫肉”，虽然不是非常准确，但挺有意思。现在看来，老外学中文也能这么干，而且确实管用。hoho

我们又聊起了北京这个城市，导游说北京是个国际大都市，有大约2000万人口，石太太就突然问我是北京人吗？我说不是，我来自一个叫hohhot的城市，那里只有300万人口，是个小城市。俩老外听了之后都咋了咋舌，石太太说他们也住在Yale大学附近的一个小城市，那个城市大概有1500人，我说在中国这不叫小城市，甚至连镇子（town）都称不上，充其量只是个村子（village），而且还是个小村子（small village）。说着，我不禁哼了一句：“村里有个姑娘叫小芳，长得好看又善良，一双美丽的大眼镜，辫子粗又长。。。”司机师傅居然笑了，奇怪，他不是听不懂吗？

开车跑了一个半小时，终于到地方了。我下车看了一眼路边的牌子，慕田峪长城，果然就在慕田峪！

司机师傅不跟我们爬长城，他负责在下面停车看行李；导游小姐负责去买票，她买票可以打折；我和两个老外负责上厕所。。。。。。

我想在这里还是先分个段吧，长城的游记等我上完厕所回来再继续写。

㈨ 作文：我的英语学习

英语一直是我最头痛的一门功课。因为在我看来有无数个毫无规律的英语单词要背诵，还有那莫名其妙的听力，都令我烦恼不已。但这学期我发现我似乎对这门讨厌的功课产生了兴趣。
事情的起因是爸爸出差到北京，给我带回了一台“读书郎”英语同步读书机。我立刻被它漂亮的外表吸引住了，因为它像一台高档的笔记本电脑。打开读书机，左边是音标，分为元音、辅音；右边是26个英语字母。最大的好处是它可以下载我上课用的PEP教材。妈妈让我打开英语课本，翻到第1页，把读书机中的页码调至相同页码，我再用那神奇的信号笔一点，点到哪儿，读书机就发出标准的读音，点第二遍时它就译出这个单词的中文含义，真是太神奇了！
刚开始几天，我每天一放学就抱着这台“读书郎”，渐渐地新鲜劲也就过去了。妈妈看准了时机，立即调动我的积极性，把老师当天教的英语单词分批教我，并慢慢告诉我这个字母在单词中所发的音。这样，日积月累，慢慢地我对有些字母的发音规律也有所掌握。正像妈妈所说的那样，一旦你会读准这个单词，那么这个单词的一半已被记住，只要稍一用心，就可记住全部。妈妈告诉我：学习英语要循序渐进，因为记忆会衰减，所以学单词时，先学一遍，过一会儿复习一遍，到第二天再复习一遍，一星期、一个月内再次复习，这样能把短期记忆变成长期记忆。这种方法叫作“思马德记忆”。按照妈妈所说的方法，我试了一下。哎，果真有效果！渐渐地我对背诵单词有点窍门了。这个学期六个单元所要求的四会单词，我全部做到了会“听、说、读、写”。
因为背诵单词有了明显的进步，得到了老师的表扬，我的学习热情倍增，对听力也产生了兴趣。现在我拿到听力课文，不象以前那样手忙脚乱，而是先把课文、图案看一遍。如果是选择题，我会看清图案，了解这几幅图的大致含义，再听录音。我现在能抓住几个重点词语与图案进行对照，基本能做到准确无误。对阅读也同样，抓住几个关键词语和下面的问题进行对照。
以上几点仅是我对学习英语的几点体会。同学们，你们是不是也和以前的我一样，对学习英语非常头痛，其实不用害怕，只要坚持不懈，今天记不住的单词明天再记，反反复复，我相信你一定会成功。让我们一起努力，共同进步吧！
