national heros always have marvellous reputations, after died miserablly. they died by a lot of reasons. some were killed because their emperors were too?afraid of the powers they had, some because their enemies bribed to the nation traitors, often who have had a great wealth or?a powerful authority. this is a nation that is like procing traitors overwhelmingly every time on a very dangerious situation, and quite often, heros are mistakenly treated as traitors but peple who really betrayed the fate of this nation, because of their ruling powers, are seen as the savior.
i shall admit there are some implication as a clue of history, to mirror what will happen repetitiously over and over again. heros are respectable, famous, and admired. without them, this nation should have gone through more sufferrings. they deserve what they own. however, tracking of our shameless history ,what to be noted is that ?noboy else but ourselves torture our heros, mistreated thier beloved, and even eradicated the origins of theirs. although hundreds of years later, they gained back their reputations, and if lucky, maybe they could get some statues, biographies or whatever else, one truth can't be denied. they were put in an extremely painful life, and so were their families and friends, for what these heros contributed to our nation's future, and what they devoted their lives to protect. what can be concluded from it? if there r some potential heros around u, stay away from him or her, coz though we know we must show our respect to them, they are most likely to be a tragedy, which also causes people care about them to pay for the price.
it's ironical, isn't it? this nation never stops calling for more heros desperately,in a name of protecting its people, but what i'm more interested in is, what the people do to the heros, when they are alive? if heros are the role models of most people of this nation, then how come heros are still so needed by us, especially when we shout out, justicely and loudly, that there must be someone else standing out to be heros. and if they don't wanna be heros, they gotta think about the outcomes that the entire nation curses them as wusses, humiliating them afterwards. but curiously, next time they'll still ask for someone else again to sacrifice their lives to defend the benefits of the nation( or the benefits of some). why don't u be then? or at least, why don't u, the nation people, protect the heros when they need u. when the emperors threaten ur heros, why didn't u overthrow the empire, instead u gave in the throne?when you know who betrayed the nation to sell off ur heros, just because of their powers, u gave in again?
the truth is, this nation grants the greatest hornor to heros, when it needs them. once heros lost their auras, or the public has to pay, heros begin sufferring. and what is hidden in the heart of most of people is, they want the rest to pursue the hornor of being a hero, but they themselves are more addicted into another thing---power. such people deem themselves 'wiser'.
we are saying this nation is great, sorry, it's a no. most of great genes of this nation have been eliminated by oursleves, in three thousand years' grand history, dynasty after dynastry, one generation after one.

The 21-year-old claimed the gold medal of the glamorous men's 110m hurldes before a capacity crowd of 70,000 at the Olympic Stadium in the 28th Olympic Games in Athens late Friday local time.
In 2002, Liu launched his career in fine style by winning the first IAAF Grand Prix in Lausanne with a world youth and Asian record time of 13.12 seconds in the 110 metres hurdles.
He has since made the finals at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics and IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics (twice); two of the three cases has seen American hurdling great Allen Johnson take the major prize, but in the last in May at Osaka, Liu managed to beat Johnson with an Asian-record time of 13.06 seconds.
Still young, Liu has improved steadily, and won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 110 meters hurdles event. In the final, he equaled the world record of 12.91 seconds held since 1993 by Colin Jackson of Wales. This is the first time an athlete of non-African descent has dipped under 13 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles.
He clocked a stunning 12.91 seconds to equal the world record set by Britain's Collin Jackson in 1993.
Chinese fans in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai burst into hysteria and many cried out when the national television station CCTV broadcast the event live, when brave Liu Xiang dashed to the line in arms and legs far ahead of his rivals, in the early hours Saturday morning Beijing time.
Shihuangdi or Shih Huang-ti orig. Zhao Zheng
born с 259 BC, Qin state, northwestern China
died 210 BC, Hebei province
Founder of the Qin dynasty (221–207 BC).
His father was king of Qin, which was regarded as barbarous by the central states of China but had developed a strong bureaucratic government under the philosophy of legalism (see Hanfeizi). Aided by Li Si, Zheng eliminated the other Chinese states until in 221 BC Qin ruled supreme. He proclaimed himself Shihuangdi ("First Sovereign Emperor") and initiated reforms designed to create a fully centralized administration. He was interested in magic and alchemy, hoping for an elixir of immortality; his reliance on magicians was strongly condemned by Confucian scholars, many of whom he executed. The scholars also advocated a return to old feudal ways; their obstinacy led him to order the burning of all nonutilitarian books. Traditional histories regarded him as the ultimate villain, cruel, uncultivated, and superstitious. Modern historians stress the enrance of his bureaucratic and administrative structure. Though the Qin dynasty collapsed after his death, future dynasties adopted his structures. He was buried in a massive tomb with an army of more than 6,000 terra-cotta soldiers and horses.
[Shihuangdi]

Lin Zexu (Chinese: 林则徐; pinyin: Lí Zéxú) (August 30, 1785 - November 22, 1850) was a Chinese scholar and official ring the Qing dynasty. He is most famous for his active fight against opium smuggling in Guangzhou, which is usually considered to be the primary catalyst for the First Opium War 1839-42.
Lin was born in Fuzhou, in the Fujian province. In 1811 he received the Jinshi degree, the highest title in the imperial examinations, and the same year he was appoinyed to the prestigeous Hanlin Academy. He rose rapidly through various grades of provincial service, and became Governor-General of Hunan and Hubei in 1837.
A formidable bureaucrat known for his thoroughness and integrity, Lin was sent to Guangdong to halt the importation of opium by the British prior to the First Opium War (1838). He confiscated more than 20,000 chests of opium already at the port and supervised their destruction. He later blockaded the port from European ships. Lin also wrote a letter to Queen Victoria of Britain warning her that China was adopting a stricter policy towards everyone, Chinese or foreign, who brought opium into China. This letter expressed a desire that Victoria would act "in accordance with decent feeling" and support his efforts. The letter was however never delivered to the queen but was published in The Times[1] . Open hostilities between China and Britain started in 1839.
Lin's failure to secure a decisive victory against the British led to his replacement by Qishan in September 1840. As punishment for his failures, he was demoted and sent to exile in Ili in Xinjiang. However, the Chinese government still considered Lin to be an official of rare virtue, and sent him off to take care of difficult situations. He died in 1850 while on the way to Guangxi, where the government was sending him to help put down the Taiping Rebellion. He was a patriot of ability who attained an international reputation as "Commissioner Lin." He was opposed to the opening of the country, but felt the need of a better knowledge of foreigners, which drove him to collect much material for a geography of the world. He later gave this material to Wei Yuan, who published an Illustrated Treatise on the Maritime Kingdoms (Hǎiguó túzhì 海国图志) in 1844.
June 3, the day when Lin confiscated the crates of opium, is celebrated as Anti-Smoking Day in the Republic of China in Taiwan. Manhattan's Chatham Square, in Chinatown, contains a statue of Lin, commemorating his early struggle against drug use.

Li zhunji, My Hero
Have you seen the Korean TV series call “Hero”? The hero of the story is a actor called Lizhunji. Lizhunji, he is my hero.
I admire most of the characters he acted in the movies and TV dramas, such as the romantic and free spirited Xu Zheng yu in “My Girl”, the tough man in “the times of the wolf and dog”, and the legendary hero in “the plum blossom”. Beside this, I admire him as an actor. He challenges himself as an actor and chooses to act totally different type of rolls. He said to his fans, “If one day I forgot my dream and chased after money and fame, I wouldn’t be me anymore. Please abandon me then.”
I’m not an actor, but I want to be like him to challenge myself and live in the dream to achieve, not to sit back and enjoy the success.
The person I admire is my mum. She is an English teacher. She is very popular among the students because she spends lots of time on her lessons and has a good sense of humor. Students all enjoy her class. My mum is not only a good teacher, but also a great mother. She is patient with me and always smiling while talking. My mum teaches me how to think independently and helps me to build up my confidence. When I have some difficulties in my studies, it is my mum who encourages me to work until I solve the problem. When Im feeling sad or bad, it is also my mum who looks after me with care.
I remember when I caught a fever at midnight last year, my mum took me to the hospital as fast as she could. When we got home after my injection, it was about 5 oclock in the early morning. My mum only slept 2 hours because she had to wake up at 7 oclock to prepare breakfast for me, and then she went to work. She must be very tired that day.
My mum is not very beautiful, but I admire and love her.
