The city I live in is only one-hour drive from a prairie where it has a provincial heritage villiage. The other day I was in the tour information centre of the city browsing around and I was so impressed by a picture of a windmill. As I got there, stepping into the entrance, I felt like I was brought to the old time. People (or staff I should say) were dressed up with traditional clothings as first settlers of this land. The farms are spreaded out from the main street where it has restaurants, blacksmiths, schools, stores, etc. However, to me, the most attracting building is the windmill. I had been to farms but never had I seen windmills before. The staff with a nice voice told us that the windmill was built 100 years ago and was used to process feed, flour and for cutting lumbers. The major transportations were wagons and I could still see them there in the farms. Everything there was breath of fresh air to me. I appreciate there is such a nice historic site nearby our city and it was a fun tour.
