第三步是找出当前计划与目标计划的差异。在设定目标的过程中,会发现高层管理者希望达到的TSR水平与公司目前计划中包含的目标之间存在差异。
这时,可以变化财务战略在短期内缩短这一差距,降低公司资产负债率就是一个不错的选择。这样就可以降低资本成本,提高市盈率,并增加对风险规避型投资者的吸引力;加大股息发放不仅能增加股东回报,有时还能提高市盈率,加强内部约束,迫使经理人将现金从运营或业绩不佳的组合资产中释放出来。
