⑴ 2009年英语高考作文:假如你是李华
Mrs. Wilson, I’ going out shopping, and won’t be back until about 5:00 pm. I have taken with me the two books you asked me to return to the City Library. At about 1 o’clock this afternoon, Tracy called, saying that she couldn’t meet you at Bolton Coffee tomorrow morning as she has something important to attend to. She felt very sorry about that, but said that you could set some other time for the meeting. She wanted you to call her back as soon as you are home. She has already told Susan about this change.

Recently, we have made a survey of the people on physical training. Only 35 percent of the people surveyed have taken part in physical activities.
Over half of the people say they haven’t got enough time to take exercises. 34.9 percent of them complain they don’t have places where they can relax themselves and that there are not enough training facilities, while another 12.9 percent of the people feel that they live too far away from the training centers. Some of them even don’t know how to train.
For lack of physical training, many people are not in good health. People should realize the importance of it, and measures should be taken to provide people with training facilities.

The average family income in our Kangming City increased from 8,000 yuan per year in 1998 to 20,000 yuan in 2008. In the meantime, the structure of the average family expenses has changed, too. These graphs show the change clearly.
The biggest part of the average family expenses is housing. In 1998, the average family spent 25 percent of its income on housing. In 2880, expenses on housing rose to 42 percent. Food and drink are the second biggest part of the average family expenses. In 1998, about 18% of the average income was spent on this item. In 2008, the figure grew to 30%. As a result of such increase in the expenses on housing and food, expenses on other items have been reced from 57% in 1998 to 28%in 2008.
Thus, a conclusion can be drawn that as income increases, people can improve their living step. But still the average family has to spend a large part of income to meet the basic needs.

Where is my home?
Some fish are forced to leave polluted water and are flying in the sky. But unfortunately, air is also so polluted that they have to wear masks. Each of them is crying, “Where is my home?” What a terrible sight!
Mankind has brought so much pollution. Waste is being poured into rivers and seas. Poisons to kill pests in farming and chemicals go into rivers and seas, too. Poisonous gasses from factories also make the air so dirty. The whole balance of nature is being destroyed as a result of our ignorance of the environmental protection.
Personally, man can not live alone on the earth. Should fish die from serious pollution, so would man! It is high time we did something to prevent such a scene from happening.

Recently I have made an investigation on whether a model-test paper for Senior Three should be difficult or easy.Opinions are divided on this matter.
Some students think that a difficult exam is just like a challenge. The harder, the better. It can help students find out where they are weak in studies and improve their learning approaches.
Others,,are against a difficult exam.In their opinion,if it is very difficult, they may become discouraged and feel terrible about the coming College Entrance Examination.Besides, with an easy exam, they can get high marks and gain confidence.
I prefer it to be neither too difficult nor too easy, because if it is too easy, teachers will not know how we are getting on with our studies, but if it is too difficult, we will lose heart

Graation and Moving on
Graation is a time when we move on, from school to university, or out into the real world.
Before graating from school, We usually have a variety of activities, like taking pictures, leaving encouraging words to one another in memory of our friendship, or giving presents to our teachers express our thanks and show respect.
However, I have mixed emotions about moving on.I want to stay and have more fun with my friends, but I will have to move on.Graation means taking a step forward---moving onward and upward. Thus I can learn more and will be more skilled and experienced.
Graation is coming whether we are ready or not.Let's make great efforts so that our dream will come true.

Different Job Outlooks
Nowadays university graates have different job outlooks. For most of them, to find a job with satisfactory pay is their most important wish while majority want to be self – employed. However, a certain number of graates are not in a hurry to hunt for jobs. They are just waiting for better chances. Toward this point of view, some experts warn that it is not wise to be just waiting. They advise that graates should find a regular, full-time job as quickly as possible so that they can earn money to support themselves and get working experience, which will help to find a better position later. Moreover, it might be more difficult to find a satisfactory job next year.

Time seems to speed up as soon as the students step into their final and vital year. The college entrance examination is approaching day by day.Quite a few students have moved out from their dormitories to live in a rented room near the school to make every minute count.
It cannot be denied that they have their own time schele after classes and easily concentrate on lessons alone in their small room. What’s important, with their morns taking care of them, they can spare more time for studies. However, there exist some disadvantages. For example, sometimes their minds go wandering easily without competitors round.Furthermore,a student who is left alone to study at rather an easy atmosphere tends to get distracted or even feel tired easily.
In spite of the fact that the dorm life is full of fun and friendship, noisy songs and shouts in the dorms after evening classes only quiet down long after the blackout at 10:30 p. m.,leading to a serious lack of sleep,I think.Worse still, they don’t make fullest use of time to study so,from my perspective.I prefer to live in the rented room.

Should Yuanmingyuan Be Rebuilt?
Yuanmingyuan, “Garden of all gardens”, was burnt and fell into ruins in 1860. Recently my classmates had a discussion about whether it should be rebuilt or not.
Supporters of rebuilding the garden say only by doing so can we see the original sight of the garden, which reflects the Chinese civilization. And it will be another place of interest for tourists. If partly rebuilt, it will provide a comparison and help us remember the history.
Those who disagree think it more reasonable to keep the garden like this. The ruins will remind us of the past. We should never forget the history. Other buildings like Palace Museum and Summer Palace can also be symbols of the Chinese culture, so it isn’t necessary to rebuild this garden. Some also worry that the environment will be destroyed when the construction goes on in this district.
Personally, it is advisable to rebuild Yuanmingyuan , which will add beauty to the city . What’s more , the new scenic spot will no doubt promote the economic development of the local.

Last month in Paris, a French company auctioned two bronze sculptures ---- a rat’s head and a rabbits head captured from China, which has aroused great public concern in China.
<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->As is known to all, the two bronze animal heads were made ring the Qing Dynasty to decorate Yuanmingyuan. In 1860, the British and French troops broke into Beijing and burned down the royal garden, taking away millions of Chinese art works, including the two head relics.
The Chinese government is strongly against this auction and has repeatedly asked for the free return of them according to the international laws. At the same time, the Chinese people have taken actions, too. Some people even flew to France, trying to stop the selling. However, the French company just wouldn’t listen.
In my opinion, the auction should be strongly condemned. Not only has it hurt the feelings of the Chinese people but also it brought shame to France. As middle school students, we must study harder so that we can make our country more powerful in the future and stop any such things from happening again.

Good afternoon, everyone!
The topic of my speech today is “My Attitude to Pursuit of Fashion in School”.
Now in our school there is a hot pursuit of fashion. Some students live a very expensive life. They have the same hairstyles as their favorable stars and wear top brand of clothes and shoes. Some use expensive mobile phones.
The reasons why they do so are as follows. Firstly, they hope to look smart and special. Secondly, they want to win others’ admiration and respect. In addition, it makes them feel cool .
As far as I am concerned, we students should hold the right sense of values. We should practice thrift in our daily life because it is one of our Chinese traditional virtues. What’s more , it is advisable for us to donate some pocket money to the Hope Project so that those poor children in rural areas can return to school to receive normal ecation. Last but not least, it is the inner beauty rather than our appearance that makes us respectable.
Thank you for listening!

What a Great Olympic Games!
The 29th Olympic Games has been over in Beijing, China on August 24,2008, which has left a great impression on the whole world. About 204 countries and regions attended the Olympic Games. In the Games, our Chinese athletes have won 51 gold medals, while America,36; Russia,23. This is the first time that we, Chinese athletes have won so many gold medals in one Olympic Games, which means our sports games belong to the first class in the world!
It is our athletes’ intelligence and other qualities that have won the great honor for us Chinese all! Days when we were looked down upon have gone forever! From the very Games, we have proved that our government has the ability to hold the Olympic Games successfully! Not only can we hold the Olympic Games well, but also we can perform well. The fact has showed everything to the world! It is the successful 29th Olympic Games that destroys the saying of those who doubted about it days ago! What a great, successful and impressive Olympic Games!

TVs and Radios
TVs are more useful than radios. From TV you can see and hear what is happening in the world. However, radios are not disappearing. They are still with us. And the number of listeners is becoming larger. Do you know why?
One reason for this is the invention of the transistor. A transistor radio can be very small. It is very easy to be carried. Besides, radio broadcasts are better for blind people. Many old people don’t have good eyesight. They can’t watch TV, but can listen to music or news over the radio. What’s more, a radio is cheaper than a TV set.

A new park for children has been set up to welcome' the coming of Children's Day,
The park is in the south of our city, covering an area of 500 mu. Entering the park you can see statues of children in different races, hand in hand, which is the symbol of the world peace. In the middle is a lake, around Which are all kinds of trees and flowers. There are many boats on the take and some children are boating happily, To the south of the lake is a hill with a lot of monkeys on it. The Children's Pa]ace lies to the east, in which all kinds of exhibitions are on show. To the west of the lake is a place for children to play, where there are many recreational facilities.
I'm sure the children in our city will have a happy festival this year

A teacher just likes a shining
A teacher just likes a shining star to students. Miss Fu, one of my English teacher, is a shining star in my life.
I happened to be in Miss Fu's class when I began my high school years. At that time, I dared not speak English aloud in public, for I was shy and my pronunciation and intonation① were poor. Afraid of being laughed at, I never put up my hand to answer the questions Miss Fu raised in class, even if I had some good answers to them. For a time, I even lost interest in practising spoken English. When Miss Fu found out the reason, she encouraged me to speak. First she bought me some English tapes and told me to listen to them carefully, and try to recite them. In class, I was often asked questions and given a lot of chances to practise speaking.Little by little, I became brave enough to speak, and was not afraid to speak English before others. Miss Fu smiled sweetly when she heard the news that I had been chosen to take part in an important oral English contest②.
Whenever I look at the stars in the sky, I recognize the brightest one ---- the symbol of Miss Fu in my heart. Miss Fu will always be a shining star in my life!

I have a good friend. He is a handsome boy and his eyes shine with wisdom.
I have known him since Senior One. We are both interested in English. Once both of us entered for an English contest. How eagerly I expected to get a prize! On hearing that I had failed in the contest, I could hardly hold back my tears. "What a pity!" I murmured to myself over and over again. I felt that the world had become cold and everyone seemed to be laughing at me.I love English and have gone all out to study it since my first day in the junior middle school. I have even dreamed of entering a foreign language institute. So I felt very sad.
Just at this time, I received a short letter in English, saying, "Failure is the mother of success. Cheer up! Don't lose confidence. Keep on your study and you will succeed!" I knew it was from the good friend of mine. These words encouraged me greatly. I forgot all my sadness. From then on, I studied English even harder. In the next English contest, I got the first prize. Of course, he was delighted with my success.

Dir Sir/Madame,
I'm writing for more information about the day tour to London
As a student at Oxford University, I'd like to know if you have any special price for students. As for the money you charge, does it cover the entrance fees for visiting the places listed? What about lunch? Is it included? Or do I need to bring along my own food?
How long will the tour last? Since I need to prepare my les-sons for the next day, I'd like to know. the time to return. Besides, is there any time for shopping? I really want to have a look at the big stores in London.

Dear Bob,
Thank you for your last letter asking about our library. Our library is the center of the school. There is a beautiful garden in front of it and our classroom building is right behind it. The library is big. When you get inside, you will see many shelves full of books on different subjects. There are also lots of newspapers and magazines. We borrow books and do some reading in the library. According to the rule, every student can borrow up to 5 books each time and keep them for 10 days. It is open from 9 am to 7 pm from Monday to Friday and closed on weekends. We all like our library very much.
Best wishes,

Dear Peter,
I am writing to ask whether you are able to do me a favor.
I want to have a pen friend, hopefully a girl in her early twenties, and with interests similar to mine. In my mind, she is someone who is interested in traveling, swimming, and playing table tennis. Besides, it would be better for her to have a pet dog as I have kept one at home for some time. With such a pen friend, I hope I can share with her our experience in traveling, taking care of pets or whatever we have in common. And I believe I will improve my English by doing so and learn more about her country.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards

Recently I have made an investigation on whether a model-test paper for Senior Three should be difficult or easy. are divided on this matter.

I prefer it to be neither too difficult nor too easy, because if it is too easy, teachers will not know how we are getting on with our studies, but if it is too difficult, we will lose heart

Mrs Wilson,
I’m going out shopping, and won’t be back until about 5:00 pm.

2. 位置:天安门广场南面;

4. 特色:步行街、当当车、茶馆、剧院等。
参考词汇:步行街 pedestrian street
当当车 trolley car
地铁 subway
注意:
1. 词数100左右;
2. 可以适当增加细节,以使行文连贯;

Dear Sarah,
Thank you for your letter for asking about the rebuilt Qianmen Street. Here is something about it.
Qianmen Street is a famous street of over 600 years old. Along this 800-meter street, there are more than 300 shops. As the street is in the center of Beijing, just to the south of Tian’anmen Square, it’s very convenient to get there by bus. You may take Buses No. 17, 69 or 59. Subway Line 2 has a stop there too. Qianmen Street is a pedestrian street, but there are trolley cars to take you not only to the shops, but also to chatters and teahouses where you can experience a truly Chinese way of life. I’m sure you‘ll like it.

Green Action in Our Class
April 12 is memorable because our class had a meaningful experience on that day. In the morning, we bicycled to the suburbs to plant trees, talking and laughing all the way. Upon arrival, we began to work immediately. Some were digging holes. Some were carrying and planting young trees. Others were watering them. After getting the work done, we put up a board reminding people to protect the trees. Before leaving we took some photos to record our green action. Seeing the lines of trees, we all had a sense of achievement. We feel it’s our ty to protect and beautify our environment.

What an interesting picture! A Western young man, sitting at a table, is ready to eat a bowl of noodles. He is holding two forks the same way as we Chinese hold chopsticks. He is trying so hard to pick up the noodles that he is sweating a lot. At first glance, I think it’s a bit funny, for we Chinese take for granted that chopsticks are the tools for eating noodles. The man in the picture is trying to us. Obviously he is doing it the hard way. Maybe using one fork will do a better job, In my opinion, we don’t need to others’ ways of thinking. Sometimes a simpler way of doing things may be a better way.
In my opinion, we don’t need to others’ ways of thinking. Sometimes a simpler way of doing things may be a better way.

Recently I have made an investigation on whether a model-test paper for Senior Three should be difficult or easy. are divided on this matter.
Some students think that a difficult exam is just like a challenge. The harder, the better. It can help students find out where they are weak in studies and improve their learning approaches.
Others, however, are against a difficult exam.In their opinion,if it is very difficult, they may become discouraged and feel terrible about the coming College Entrance Examination.Besides, with an easy exam, they can get high marks and gain confidence.

09安徽Dear David,
I’ glad that you’ve noticed our efforts directed towards environmental protection. Thank you for your concern.
As too much use of plastic bags has caused serious white pollution, our govenment encourages us to use environment-friendly shopping bags. These bags are made of a variety of material that can be easily treated when they become rubbish. Besides, they can be reused. More and more people in China have realized the advantages of such bags and started using them.
I believe that the wide use of these shopping bags can greatly improve our environment. This is one of the many steps we are to make our country an even cleaner place.
Yours,

Born in American, Thomas Edison was a great scientist and inventor. He once thought to be a boy who was not worth ecating. In fact, he was a man full of imagination.
I admire Edison a lot because of his great contribution to the world. He had more than 1000 inventions. In his little time, he was always eager to know how things worked, which helped him to earn the nickname “the Wizard of Meio Park”. He was also so diligent that he worked day and night. And this explained why he had so many inventions.
What impresses me most is his famous saying, “genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration”. Probably I cannot be an Edison myself, but I can be a hardworking learner. From him, I realize the secret to success is not when and where you were born, but what you are doing and how you do it in your life.
Sample 2: Helen Keller
Every time I read “…if I had the power of sight for three days;, I cannot help being moved by its author Helen Keller, an ordinary but great American woman.
I admire Helen because she is optimistic about life. She became deaf and blind when she was 19 months old. Since then she lived in a world of darkness and silence, and communication seemed only a dream for her. But she never gave up and struggled to lead an active life. Under the guidance of her teacher, Ms. Sulliven, Helen learned to read and write, and became a famous writer. For a disabled person like her, this was really a wonder.
Helen has set an excellent example to all of us. Her story tells us that we should value what we have and try our best to overcome any difficulty in life.
Sample 3: William Shakespeare
Do you know Hamlet? Have you read the Merchant of Venice? These two great works are both written by William Shakespeare, my favourite English writer and the man of all ages!
Shakespeare, a son from a poor family, a man of little ecation, wrote plays and poems that are read all over the world. I like him because his comedies and tragedies gring me into a fantastic world; I love him because his poems let me enjoy the beauty of the English language; I admire him because his keen sights set me thinking and teach me how to lead a meaningful life!
Since “life is a stage”, we are actually all actors and actresses. On this stage, everyone has his own role to play, and I will try my best to play my role well.
08湖北Dear Sir,
I am writing to you for the mobile phone of Dephone-S250 I bought on 20th Apr.2008 at Tele Mall in Wuhan, P.R. China. Ten days after that, it didn’t ring and send short messages. Then I took it to the seller, but was told that the model had been sold out and I had to wait at least three months for a new one. Later I went to the repairman. He said since it was a new model in China,it was impossible to fix it without the right spare parts.I was so desperate on hearing that. How can I wait that long? Therefore, I require that you send me a new one of the same model within a month.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Bu Manyi

Last Thursday, we had a class meeting to discuss where to go for our spring outing. We came up with several choices such as going boating, climbing a mountain, and going to an amusement park. Finally, we decided to go mountain climbing.
The next day, we set off early in the morning. While climbing the mountain, we enjoyed the warm sunshine and a beautiful view. However, when reached the top, we were shocked to see litter here and there, such as bottles and banana peels. Then we started to pick up the litter. Afterwards, we put the rubbish into the nearby recycling bin and non-recycling bin respectively.
We were tired but happy.
第二节 开放作文 (15分)
One possible version:
From the picture I can see a pair of proud compasses and a hard-working pencil. The compasses are big, drawing a circle with ease, while the pencil is small, drawing a line with great effort. I think the compasses are reasonable to be proud because no one else can do the job better. At the same time, however, he should realize the pencil has his own advantages. The pencil can do other shapes better than the compasses, even pictures. So in my opinion, while we are confident in ourselves, we should recognize strengths in others and show e respect for them.

Dear Peter,
I’m glad to receive your letter asking for my advice on how to learn Chinese well.
Here are a few suggestions. First, it is important to take a Chinese course, as you’ll be able
to learn from the teacher and practice with your fellow students. Then, it also helps to watch TV
and read books, newspapers and magazines in Chinese whenever possible.
Besides, it should be a good idea to learn and sing Chinese songs, because by doing so you’ll learn and remember Chinese words more easily. You can also make more Chinese friends. They will tell you a lot about China and help you learn Chinese.
Try and write me in Chinese next time.
Best wishes
Li Hua
08全国1Dear Sir/ Madam,
Greetings from Chian!
I’m Li Hua, a student in Sichuan. I’ve been a panda lover since I was a child. About three years ago I was delighted to learn that Baiyun gave birth to her daughter Sulin and I’ve been watching her grow on your website. Now she’s going to be there. I’d like to wish her a happy birthday and to express my thanks to you for your hard work, because of which Sulin and her parents are living a happy and healthy life in the US.
By the way, could I have a photo of Sulin taken on her third birthday? Thank you very much in advance.
Yours truly,
Li Hua
08辽宁We all want to grow up happily and healthily, and for this goal we must do several things.
Firstly, we should develop a good attitude to life. Life consists of not only sunshine but also hard times. We should be brave in front of difficulties. Secondly, we must study hard because knowledge is power. If we have the power. We can help to build our country and enjoy life better. In order to study well, we need to do sports so that we can keep fit. We can go running, play ball games or simply take a walk after a day’s study. If we do those things well, we will be able to grow up happily and healthily.
08 江苏Good afternoon, everyone!
The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.
Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.
Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.
What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other. (151)
Thank you for your listening!
