二、变换教学手段，激发学生学习英语的浓厚兴趣
爱因斯坦曾说过，“兴趣是最好的老师。”“兴趣”是一种带有情绪色彩的认识倾向。“兴趣”是一种特殊的学习动机，它是学习中最活跃的因素。所以要激发学生去学习，则必须要有兴趣作为他们学习的内在“激素”。在实际教学中，本人在课堂上，经常布置一些简单的任务给某个学生，让他们下课去查找资料，下一节课时站在讲台上，扮演一下老师的角色，这样，督促他们能自己去学，因为大学生更多要培养的是自学能力。对听力课的教学，进行短期的试行改革，第一堂课保证原来安排好的教学进度，第二节课放经典外语片，一方面，看原声电影是锻炼英语听力的良方之一，积极酿造出地道的英语环境；另一方面，可以加深对已经阅读过的作品的理解，对于未阅读过的作品，可以适时进行对学生阅读方面缺乏的弥补。这一举措，深受大部分学生的喜爱，很大程度上消除了他们学习英语过程中的枯燥感。
三、关爱学生，加强师生之间的情感沟通
曾经有过教育学家说过，“只有教师热爱学生、关心学生，才能使学生尊敬你、信任你，喜欢你所教的这门课，乐意接受你所传授的知识”。这句金玉良言给我很深的启示。平时上课时，本人尽量以饱满的热情，激昂幽默的语言进行教学，把情感融入到教学中，学生听课显得更活跃。他们参与教学活动的积极性提高了，教学效果也就会更好。反之，教师心情不好，状态不佳，听课者必然会觉得兴趣索然无味，教学效果大打折扣。因为这两种情况我在教学过程中都经历过，课堂气氛效果差别非常明显。对于任课老师而言，保持良好的心情和充沛的热情，对于提高学生的学习兴趣，有非常重要的影响。
素质教育呼唤新型的师生关系。学生在学习英语中常有消极情感，害怕与同学和老师交流，但由于他们与老师之间的年龄距离不大，与之沟通并不是一件难事，甚至彼此可以成为朋友。加上个人性格原因，在平时与学生相处中，我尽可能地尊重、理解、爱护、宽慰每一个学生，给学生更多的亲切感和信赖感。在评价方面，多用适度的表扬，激励和委婉的批评方式让学生明白自己的进步和问题。学生回答问题时，答对了，给予及时的肯定和鼓励：Good/Great/Well-done/That’sagoodidea！这不仅给予了学生成功的喜悦，且不断强化了学生参与交际的信心。教学中还需使用一些建议性的、易于接受的、委婉的表达方法：“Pleasepaymoreattentiontoyour……”“”决不说那些伤害学生自尊、挫伤积极性的话，“You’resostupid/foolish……”等等。

四、英语学习兴趣，让学生体验成功的快乐
大多数教师几乎都遇到过这种情况：叫一个学生回答问题或上黑板写句子，当然是他能力范围内的，但他不敢上来，他不停地说：“老师，我真的不会”，老师一般会鼓励：“不要怕，你一定行的，错了也没关系”，终于上来了，战战兢兢写好句子回到位子上。当知道自己的答案完全正确，他就会自信起来，因为他尝到了成功的喜悦，从此以后他学习的热情变高了。
