怀着看灾难片的心情去《唐山大地震》，可是灾难的场面并没有多么的气势磅礴与叹为观止，那镜头下的中国却让人怀念与思考。
76年的中国，还是计划经济阶段，生活的形式是简单的，感觉却是幸福的，电影里小两口已经有了一对龙凤胎作为母亲的却还想要生孩子，在说着计划要孩子的时候母亲（徐帆饰演）表现出来的热情与对孩子的热爱是那么的的纯粹与无私完全没有考虑到自己生活质量的问题。
一家四口的日子没有任何的问题，父母健健康康的，孩子活泼可爱。虽然爱孩子的心是无私的，可是在对待男女平等的问题上，几千年来男尊女卑的中国式思维方式依然在无形中主导着大多数人去思考问题。当只剩下最后一个西红柿的时候，双胞胎的姐妹两，女孩子就得做出牺牲让着男孩，这不是偏爱，这是一种习惯，一种重男轻女思想的延续。

儿子（李晨饰演）在经历了灾难后，个性顽强，求生欲望强烈，他心疼母亲，不怕吃苦，踩三轮，独自出外闯荡，坚韧的性格让他后来在事业上有了不错的表现，知道感恩，汶川地震的时候身为公司老总的他亲自带队抗震救灾，他迁就自己母亲胜过自己的老婆，很难得！
