我盼星星盼月亮，终于，第一期的《小读者》邮来了。我迫不及待地翻开它，心里说：“我终于就要揭开它的‘庐山真面目’了！”我仔细地阅读起来，它好像磁石一般吸引着我。当我意识到这本刊物的优秀时，有想起了妈妈为了订购它而跑遍邮局时，眼前竟模糊起来，心想：“这小小的礼物竟寄托着妈妈对我的期望啊！”我对妈妈心存感激，抚育之恩重于泰山啊！
此后，《小读者》我是每期必看，每起必读。书中刊登着各种优秀文章，其中有许多是小学生的佳作。它介绍人生的真谛，讲述哲学的道理，对我来说，是一本不可多得的好书。
我要感激妈妈，因为她给我了一份最珍贵的礼物。

Today is my mother's birthday. My father and I wanted to give her surprising birthday presents.
In the morning we went to the shop and bought a big cake. Then we went to the market and bought some food that mother liked very much. After getting home, we began to prepare our presents.
