On Diligence
It is the ty of every man to work. The life of a lazy man is of no use to himself and to others. The man who is too lazy to work is the man who's generally most ready to beg or to steal. He should put his heart and soul completely into his work, and not waste his spare time. "Work while you work and play while you play" is as good a rule for young people as for the old. There is no better help to diligence than the habit of early rising, which just like all other good habits is most easily formed in youth. There is an English saying, "Lost time never returns." This means that everybody must be diligent, and make good use of his time. One must study hard when he isyoung so that he may make great progress, succeed in life and become useful to his country. Therefore, we say that diligence Is the mother of success.

Learning english can be a very difficult task for most people, this is because we dont live in a environment where we are forced to speak or write english. so i think the best way to learn english is by communicating with others using the lagnguage itself and not just learn from the book. Im sure if you live in an environment such as a foreign country and were forced to speak and write english everyday then your english will imprve dramatically. Although we must agree that we need to read and write english from the book in order to get the foundations that we need for basic communication, this is essential but as i said, this is only a foundation, what you develop afterwards all depends on your ability to adapt to an environment and your courage.

其實，關於兒童英語學習，目前有很多觀點一直被爭論著，比如，孩子多大開始學英文好？孩子太小學英語對母語是否會造成干擾？幼兒究竟有沒有必要學英文？幼兒學英文是選一套好的教材好，還是父母平時多與孩子說口語就可以了？等等，相信每位家長都有自己的看法。我認為，孩子和孩子不一樣，家長尤其要有自己的主見，適用於別的孩子身上的方法不一定對自己的孩子有效。這就要家長自己摸索出一套適合自己孩子的學習方法。
同樣是幼兒園上英語課，有的孩子就可以跟隨老師的節奏互動，積極配合，學習效果也非常明顯。而有的孩子就不是很歡，甚至出現厭煩情緒。同樣一套教材，有的孩子會非常歡著迷，回家又聽磁帶又看VCD；而有的孩子就會不聽也不看。同樣也是家長在家裡與孩子說英語口語，有的孩子就會很容易接受，並能聽懂和應用；而有的孩子就很反感，拒絕媽媽再成天嘮叨「鳥語」。這就需要有心、細心和耐心的家長去尋找一個最適合自己孩子的方法。我的觀點是：對於幼兒，如果你想讓孩子接受英語，那就最好是不把英語當作一種語言去學習，而是純粹的娛樂，就象畫畫和看書一樣自然，是一種享受和樂趣，比如看原版的動畫片，聽英文歌曲和童謠，講英文故事等，平時和他說些簡單的英語口語，感覺這些都是很自然的東西。這也是從我家雨點兒身上總結出來的。
的確，目前很多家長為了孩子學外語，往往會一種盲目和從眾的心理。看到別人都在學，生怕自己的孩子不學就會落後，或者感覺對不起孩子。其實順其自然最好啦，發現孩子歡什麼，對什麼感興趣，就盡自己所能給他提供什麼，這就足夠了。我們教育孩子，不是為了培養一個學者，身心都健康我就知足啦！

語言是孩子思維的窗口，代表了孩子心理發育的水平，家長都非常關注孩子語言能力的發展，加上如今對外交往的日益增加，大家更加關注孩子英語的學習，例如，雙語幼兒園、劍橋英語學校、階梯英語教學等等，一時間全民學英語，從娃娃開始學英語，效果到底好不好，對孩子的心智成長有什麼利弊呢？
從小學習語言對掌握該語言無疑是好的，但關鍵是孩子應該在早期主要掌握什麼語言？當然是首先掌握好母語。語言專家研究表明：當孩子的大腦忙於掌握語言，如果訓練過度，必然會壓抑抽象邏輯思維能力的發展，所以，語言能力強、外語好的孩子，數學、物理學習往往卻很吃力，學習成績偏科。所以，不能一味訓練孩子的語言能力，反而限制了其它能力的發展。
家長認為語言訓練有助於提高孩子的智力，然而，心理學家研究表明：人的智力是注意力、觀察力、記憶力、想像力、思維能力和操作能力的綜合。兒童在進行智力活動時，這幾種能力都在發揮自己的作用。而每種能力的發展水平又會影響到其他能力的發展，甚至影響整個智力的發展。例如，一個孩子的注意力差，不能很好地集中在一件事情上，那麼，他就不能認真觀察事物，不能很好地記住事物的特徵，不能產生完整的想像，更不能進行連續的思維，所以，有些家長覺得自己的孩子看上去挺聰明，可就是學習成績不理想，其實就是因為孩子的注意力不集中所造成的。心理學家在對孩子的學習能力進行訓練時，要測驗孩子的智能發展水平和注意力集中程度，然後進行有針對性的訓練，而不是只注重語言的訓練。
家長在訓練孩子語言能力時，難免要注重記憶力的培養，讓孩子背古詩、識很多字、記地圖等，但往往忽略了孩子其他能力的培養，所以，有些孩子背課文很快，但不解其意，不動腦筋，不善思考。有些家長重視孩子讀、寫、算的能力培養，卻不注意孩子手的操作能力的訓練，故而影響了孩子抽象思維能力的發展和自信心的培養，還會影響孩子適應社會的能力。
創造力是智力的最佳表現，也是衡量智力水平和發展前途的重要標志。調查發現，一個歐洲國家，國人自小就會至少3種語言，相當多的人會7種語言，但是，這個國家很少出文學家、發明家等創造性人才，因為語言的過度訓練把人的大腦格式化了。那麼，現在的家長就要注意，莫讓語言訓練阻礙了孩子創造能力的發展。
孩子的語言學習和掌握是需要必要的環境的，現在這么小就學外語，但又沒有機會去練習，語言是在使用中學會的，但是現在的孩子根本沒有鍛煉外語的機會，使用語言又能使孩子有興趣學習。所以，很多孩子覺得單調乏味，有的孩子學得快忘得快，如果這么早學習的語言最終是要因為很少使用而被忘記，那為什麼還要犧牲孩子寶貴的玩耍時間呢？
