我編了一個關於自由女神像的英文對話。
其中一個人扮演導游，向三個遊客介紹自由女神像 的歷史，文化背景.
Henry is a tour guide in New York City. A. B. C are tourists from China.
Henry: Hi, Good morning. Welcome to New York, the melting pot or the big apple. Let me introce myself. My name is Henry. I will be your tour guide in New York City. Today we will see the famous Statue of Liberty.
A: great. I have seen it on TV for so many times. It is my dream to come to see it in person. I am so excited.
B: Me, too.
C: Shall we go now?
Henry: Yes. Make sure you take your cameras and a light jacket. It is quite windy when you take the ferry to Liberty Island.
A. B. C: ok. We are all ready.
Henry and A B C take the ferry to Liberty Island.
Henry: Statue of Liberty is given to the United States by France in 1885. It is standing at Liberty Island in the mouth of the Hudson River in New York Harbor as a welcome to all visitors, immigrants, and returning Americans. Look, this is Hudson River. That is Brooklyn Bridge, not far from it is Manhattan Bridge. It is a pity we can see the twin towers any more.
A: It is a sad thing.
H: The statute is a 151-foot, woman holding a book and a torch on-high.
It was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States to commemorate the 100th anniversary of American.
The original 『life size』 cast of the Statue of Liberty stands amongst the beautiful flower gardens and fountains of Paris Luxembourg Gardens [which is home to the French Senate] in Paris. On her pedestal she』s approximately 15 feet high and absolutely 『magnifique』 among the flowers and trees.
B: Why Is the Statue of Liberty Green
H: As it was assembled, the statue was a dark brown, almost black color.
The copper color had weathered to dark as it was built in Paris.
It took about 20 years for the black color to turn to the color of
Copper patina, the green color you see today.
B: I see.
C: Who designed the statue of Liberty?
H: Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, born in Colmar, France, in 1834. The interior iron framework was designed by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, also designer of the Eiffel Tower. The statue's pedestal was designed by American architect Richard Morris Hunt.
B: Why is she holding the torch?
H: The name of the Statue is Liberty Enlightening the World.
She is illuminating the struggle for Freedom.
A: How far do we have to travel on boat to get to the Statue?
H: About two miles from Battery Park to Liberty Island.
A: I am doing a research term paper, and I have a need to use some statistics on the Statue of Liberty, specifically....How much fabric (in yards) would it take to clothe the Statue of Liberty, in her existing gown?
H: The Statue is about 35 feet in diameter at the waist, 111 feet tall, with a
17' long head, about 90 feet to the shoulders. Very roughly, then 1200 square yards of surface area, but the way she's wrapped, two layers, and to allow for some trim, her garment consists of about 4000 square yards of cloth.

B: How Old Is the Statue of Liberty
H: The history of the statue of liberty spans some 130 years. Since the statue's fabrication began in 1875, it could have celebrated its centennial in 1975; however, the statue and its pedestal weren't dedicated until 1886, making Miss Liberty 100 years old in 1986. Now. We are almost there. You may take some nice pictures from the boat. It』s hard to take the whole picture when you are too closed. Let me take the pictures for you.

第二場：在路上
(一陣輕快的音樂由遠而近，Little Red Riding Hood挎著籃子蹦跳跳地跳到花草旁)
Little Red Riding Hood： Wow！Flowers, how beautiful! （放下籃子採花）One flower ,two flowers, three flowers.
Wolf：（隨著一陣低沉的音樂，Wolf大步地走上台）I am wolf. I am hungry. (做找東西狀,東張西望) Here is a little red riding hood. Hi! Little Red Riding Hood. Where are you going? (做狡猾的樣子和Little Red Riding Hood打招呼)
Little Red Riding Hood：(手摸辮子，天真地回答)To Grandma』s．Grandma is ill.
Wolf：（自言自語）I' ll eat Grandma. But……（對Little Red Riding Hood說）Hey, look! 6 little baby cks.
Little Red Riding Hood：(和6隻鴨子隨著音樂翩翩起舞)
Wolf：（悄悄地藏到大樹後）
Little Red Riding Hood：（停止跳舞）Hello! Baby cks，how are you?
Six Ducks：We』 re fine．Thank you． Where are you going?
Little Red Riding Hood：To Grandma』s．Oh, I must go, bye.

第三場：Grandma家
Grandma： （喘著氣出場，顫顫悠悠地走到床前，吃力地坐到床邊，喘了幾口，打幾個哈欠，慢吞吞地躺倒在床上。）
Wolf：（從樹後出來，邊走邊說）I am very hungry now. (做找尋的樣子)Where is Grandma』 s house? (高興地對觀眾說)Aha , it』s here.(敲門)Bang, Bang, Bang．
Grandma： Who is it？
Wolf：（裝出Little Red Riding Hood的聲音，一邊得意地搖動尾巴，一邊說）It』s me. Little Red Riding Hood.
Grandma： (邊說邊起床) Come in, come in.
Wolf：(得意洋洋地走到床邊) Grandma , I』ll eat you.
Grandma： （驚慌失措地抓緊衣服，瞪著眼睛，邊叫迫從床上滾到地上）

Mother: Well, it wasn』t the first time to be like this.
Sister: A whole bunch of strange men was brought in by trucks.
Brother: That really scared me. They got out and started to climb up ladders.
Sister: (Afraid suddenly) Oh! My friends were grabbed and put into large bags. I could hear them yell for help.
Father: Hey! We shouldn』t look at them; otherwise, they』ll notice us.
Mother: But it』s useless.
Sister: Oh, God! We』re discovered!
Brother: Oh! We』re being grabbed and pulled from our branches. What will we do for food and water?
Sister: It will be so uncomfortable going to town in that bag with a lot of strangers.

SCENE II
On a Fruit Stand.
(After having been on the road in a bag for half an hour, they are placed on a fruit stand. )
Sister: Gee! This place is so cold and desolate. I wish we had our friends here on this stand (looks at the opposite fruit stall).
Brother: I tried to make friends with these people on our way here, but everyone looked pretty uncomfortable and scared.
(Suddenly)
Sister: Oh! Mother! How could they do that?
Mother: What are you talking about?
Brother: I know what she』s talking about (Brother turns to look).
Father: What did you see?
Sister: My friends were cut up and eaten. How could they do that? I』m so scared.
Father: Now, children, be calm.
