很多同學在寫作當中常常忽略了自己的字數問題。有的是想了半天不知道寫些啥，甚至於把字故意寫大一點，殊不知這樣完全於事無補，因為閱卷人在你字數明顯偏少的時候大致數數你的字數，那麼扣分就在所難免了。而有些同學會問，如果說字數不夠要扣分，那麼字數寫超了，就算沒功勞也有苦勞嘛，為何也要扣分呢?首先我們要看到的是，題目中對字數的上限本來就是有要求的，如果字數寫超了，則意味著你並未在我們規定的字數內去表達我們規定你要表達得准確而全面的內容，說白了就是，你的語言表達能力還是有欠缺的，因此，字數寫超了，分數照扣不誤。另外要提醒一下的是，雖然大綱對於英語一和英語二的字數規定不同，即英語一160到200詞，英語二150詞左右，但是在實際的閱卷操作中，兩種試卷只要都不寫超200字就可以了。不過其中值得注意的是，英語一如果剛剛寫到160詞的時候，給閱卷人的直觀感受是你的字數有可能不夠，所以盡量寫到180詞是最保險的方案了。
