They spent one week in Beijing and really had a wonderful time.

A Trip to Xi'an
Last month I just came back from Xi'an, where I went for a trip. Xi'an is a beautiful city with lots of famous places of interest. I saw the famous terra-cotta warriors, which is amazing. I also went to the ancient Drum Tower. Despite the weather is windy, I tried some of the traditional snacks in Xi'an. The food was so delicious and I liked it a lot. The trip was so fun that I enjoyed it very much. It was my first time in Xi'an, and I think I will go back again in the future.

I am the victim of this system. After a bus trip from Zhangye I finally arrived in Dunhuang(敦煌ūnhuáng). Going to Dunhuang is like sailing thru a vast desert(a desert is a large area of land, usually in a hot region, where there is almost no water, rain, trees, or plants). Along the way there is little to see, but an endless sea of sand. It's amazing how the roads are well-paved. Anyways, arriving there at 7:00 PM doesn't seem late as the sun was still far from touching the horizon. With that in mind, after checking-in, I immediately set out to see the city sites. I found a small local restaurant and tried some of the very hearty local noodles, complimented with skewers of large juicy, peppery lamb. The sun sets so late there and it was well past 8:00 PM before the sun finally sank behind the horizon.
OK, so what's with Dunhuang? Well, it's actually a main stop on the Silk Road serving as a hub of cultural interchange between China and the west ring ancient times. It is located at the west end part of Gansu Province. There are so many places to go to, but we only got to go to the two most famous ones. The first thing that I checked out in Dunhuang was the sand nes, the second time I have visited sand nes after my experience in Sha Potou. The sand nes were only about 200 meters high, but for every forward step you make, you always seem to take a step back. It took a while to reach the top drawing in deep breathes of the dry air. The view at the top of the nes was once again amazing views over endless seas of golden sand nes. Living in the green humid south seeing this dry arid landscape for the first time was truly amazing.

In the summer vacation, I had went to Beijing for a tourist. It was so excited, beacuse I visited many places that I had never been. I visited the Summer Palace, it was famous for its amazing scenes and its history.I also went to The Berjing Zoo, it's very nice to stay with the animals. Absolutely, I visited the Greet wall. It's a miracle made by Chinese people, and a wonder in the world. It's very honored when I was in the Great Wall. I had a very happy summer vacation.

I took a trip to Shanghai with my mother ring the seven-day holiday. It took us more than two hours to drive to Shanghai from my home in Haimen. We stayed in a large hotel on the eighth floor. On the first day, I just stayed in the hotel and rested. On the second day, my brother and I went to Nanjing Road. It』s the busiest street in Shanghai. When we got there, there were lots of people. We walked from one shop to another. I bought two T-shirts and two pairs of trousers for the coming summer. The T-shirts and trousers I bought are all white because white is my favourite colour. My brother also bought some clothes. On the third day, my mother took me to Jinjiang Entertainment Centre. It was full of people. I played many kinds of games there. I had a good time. The other days, I went to some other interesting places, such as the Oriental Bright Pearl TV Tower, the Huangpu River and Shanghai International Conference Centre. I didn』t forget to do my homework in the evening. I had a full and happy holiday.

This is my first time experiencing an air trip to another province-hangzhou.

Hangzhou has long been a famous tourist attraction. The widely expressed Chinese proverb, "in heaven there is paradise and on earth there are Hangzhou and Suzhou" combined with the words of Marco Polo who described this place as, "the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world" have helped to make Hangzhou one of the biggest tourist attractions in the entire country.
The "West Lake" provides the idyllic image of Hangzhou that most people leave with. There are numerous historical relics and sights scattered about the Lake, including the famous Buddhist temple, Lingyin Temple. You can see many of Hangzhou's sights in a couple of days
Besides the West Lake, there got another place that would never miss, that is WuZhen town.
It is said that people have lived in Wuzhen for 7000 years and over time it has proced a galaxy of talents. Mao Dun, an outstanding modern Chinese writer, was born here and his masterpiece, 'The Lin's Shop', describes vividly the life of Wuzhen. In 1991, Wuzhen was authorized as the Provincial Ancient Town of History and Culture, so ranking first among the six ancient towns south of the Yangtze River.

I finally got a chance to visit the Tomb of Warriors in Xi'an. Arrvied in Xi'an on Saturday morning and rushed to the destination straight away. It was just like what I expected. Hundreds of Terracotta Warriors and Horses stood neatly in straight lines as if they were still guarding the Qin Emperor palace thousands years ago. It is amazing how these scultures could draw us so close to the ancient history, bringing us back in time to the Qing dynasty and search the answers of the unknown.

Two days are rather too short for me to appreciate the depth and sophisted culture of Xi'an.

Checked in at my hotel in the afternoon, took a shower and get changed, then rushed out to 大唐芙蓉園 at around 6pm. The sky has already darkened by the time I got there. It is more than an ordinary amusement park. 紫雲樓 is definitely a place that you don't want to miss in Xi'an and it is situated right in the center of 芙蓉園. The architecture in the Tang dynasty is truly remarkable. Compared to the palaces from the Qing dynasty, Tang brings out a much brighter and more cheerful vibe which can easily influence people living in it.

Took a bus to 回民街 with friends after the park closed. It was after 10pm and the street is still crowded with tourists and vendors. 肉夾饃、羊肉泡饃 are much more authentic than the ones you can find in Beijing and 灌湯包 in 賈三灌湯包店 is the best pork bun I have ever had. Highly recommended if you are looking for mid-night snacks (although I'm quite sure it is as tasteful in the day time).

Climbed on to the top of the city wall after being to 大雁塔 on the second day. Growing up in a modern city like Shanghai, I have seen nothing like this before. The past three months spent in Beijing has taught me to appreciate the rich culture and history of China and I was deeply moved by the brilliant achitecture and sophistication of Xi'an.

Visited 碑林 in the afternoon right before I returned back to Beijing. Although I know nothing about the Chinese calligraphy, I still enjoyed being there and listening to our tour guide tell us the author and the style of each piece of work.

If I have a chance to visit Xi'an next time, I will definitely make sure that I go to 驪山、華清池、法門寺 and watch the music water fountain at the northern square of 大雁塔.

Came back from Xi'an yesterday morning, refreshed and recharged with energy. Xi'an is truly the place to be!

Tomorrow I'll be on a plane flying to Toronto. I am going to see the Blue Jays' baseball game. I will probably arrive in the morning at 10 am and the game will start at 12 sharp. After the game I will go to a restaurant to eat. If I have some spare time by the end of the day I will be most likely visiting my old friend Albert. Then I will catch the plane at 8pm to fly back to Montreal. I hope it's going to be an exiting day.
