愛因斯坦曾說過，「興趣是最好的老師。」「興趣」是一種帶有情緒色彩的認識傾向。「興趣」是一種特殊的學習動機，它是學習中最活躍的因素。所以要激發學生去學習，則必須要有興趣作為他們學習的內在「激素」。在實際教學中，本人在課堂上，經常布置一些簡單的任務給某個學生，讓他們下課去查找資料，下一節課時站在講台上，扮演一下老師的角色，這樣，督促他們能自己去學，因為大學生更多要培養的是自學能力。對聽力課的教學，進行短期的試行改革，第一堂課保證原來安排好的教學進度，第二節課放經典外語片，一方面，看原聲電影是鍛煉英語聽力的良方之一，積極釀造出地道的英語環境；另一方面，可以加深對已經閱讀過的作品的理解，對於未閱讀過的作品，可以適時進行對學生閱讀方面缺乏的彌補。這一舉措，深受大部分學生的喜愛，很大程度上消除了他們學習英語過程中的枯燥感。
三、關愛學生，加強師生之間的情感溝通
曾經有過教育學家說過，「只有教師熱愛學生、關心學生，才能使學生尊敬你、信任你，喜歡你所教的這門課，樂意接受你所傳授的知識」。這句金玉良言給我很深的啟示。平時上課時，本人盡量以飽滿的熱情，激昂幽默的語言進行教學，把情感融入到教學中，學生聽課顯得更活躍。他們參與教學活動的積極性提高了，教學效果也就會更好。反之，教師心情不好，狀態不佳，聽課者必然會覺得興趣索然無味，教學效果大打折扣。因為這兩種情況我在教學過程中都經歷過，課堂氣氛效果差別非常明顯。對於任課老師而言，保持良好的心情和充沛的熱情，對於提高學生的學習興趣，有非常重要的影響。
