1、Do you have any apartments for rent right now? 你們現在有沒有公寓要出租啊？
假設今天我們在報紙上看到房屋出租 (To lease, To let) 的廣告，則接下來要作的動作就是打電話給租屋仲介 (leasing agent) 或是房東 (landlord, landlady) 確定一下有沒有房子要出租。寒暄一兩句之後，就可以直接切入正題，"Do you have any apartments for rent right now?" 、 "Do you have any apartment available right now?" 或是 "Do you still have a vacancy?" (還有空的公寓嗎？) 都是不錯的講法。
同樣的問法也常見於去旅館「開房間」時，通常一進旅館，我就會先問，"Do you have any rooms available?" 或是 "Do you still have a vacancy?" 不過很多旅館特別是 Motel，招牌下都會掛一個 No Vacancy 的燈，如果還有空房間，則 No 是暗的，只見 Vacancy 的燈是亮著。如果客滿的話，則整個 No Vacancy 的燈都是亮著的，各位不妨在進旅館前先確定一下。
如果對方的確有公寓要出租，那我們就可以緊接著問對方，"What kind of apartment do you have?" (你們有什麼樣的公寓啊？) 如果很不巧的房子剛剛才租出去 (lend out)，要不然就換別家試試，再不然就是再確認一下，"When would you say that there would be an apartment available again?" (那你覺得什麼時候才會有房子空出來呢？) 說不定再耐心等等就會有空房子了呢！
