【原文】他一提到耳環的事情，我心裡又感覺不舒服起來。他這話倒是說的沒錯，三叔那事情，撲朔迷離，線索少的可憐，而這種鈴鐺，瓜子廟的屍洞和海底墓里都出現過，關系重大，要是沒抓住這個機會，恐怕這事情查起來就更加的困難。
可是想前兩次的經歷，我的腳就開始有點發軟，心裡還有後怕，加上爬山的種種辛苦，實在是不想嘗試。
【解釋】吳邪想去又不想去的心情就可以用「ambivalent」來形容。
2. anomaly n.反常；畸形
【聯想】atypical a.不規則的；異常的
【原文1】讓我大吃一驚的是，這具男屍竟然長著十二隻手，呈環形排列在身後，而且十二隻手都在扭動，就像廟中的千手觀音一樣。
【解釋1】這只畸形粽子就是一個anomaly。
【原文2】我看他這種態度，一下子無數的問題沖上腦子，人就有點失控，一下把他按住，對他道：「你不準走！」
他轉頭淡淡的看了我一眼，還真的就沒有走，坐了下來，看著我。
他這行為很反常，我還以為他會揚長而去，一下我自己也愣了，不知道說什麼好。他看著我，問我道：「你有什麼事情？」
【解釋2】
悶油瓶停下來的行為很atypical。(YY一下，是因為天真么=V=)
3. sarcastic=sardonic=snide=mocking=derisive=taunting=stinging 挖苦的；諷刺的
【原文】胖子說「哎，你們看這樣如何，動物都怕火，你們把衣服全脫了，我用你們的衣服把我身上所有的地方全部都包住，淋濕了之後然後澆上燒酒，點起來我就沖過去，這些蛇肯定不敢咬一個火人，我拿了對講機，然後回來跳進沼澤里，最多不會超過2分鍾。」
我說「然後呢？我們是不是要拿著對講機在這里裸奔？」
【解釋】吳邪同學的話語赤裸裸地帶有sarcastic意味啊。
4. dearth=paucity=scarcity
【中文】n。不足；缺乏
【原文1】我翻找了屍體上所能找到的一切，但是再無任何線索，這些人誰是誰，我也搞不清楚，我心亂如麻，昏頭轉向的就往墓道里走去，連手電筒也都沒有拿。
【解釋1】There was a dearth of reliable information/ a paucity of information。天真嚴重地缺乏可靠信息，或者說線索。
【原文2】胖子道：「我算過，剩下的東西，我們省著吃能吃兩天，勉強夠我們一路順利的找到口子出去，但是現在多了一個小哥，我們就沒有別的辦法了，就算能安全到達地面上，我們也必須挨餓穿過雨林。現在水已經下的差不多了，沼澤肯定已經露了出來，穿過去一定是極其艱苦的過程。你如果再堅持等下去，明天我們就要開始挨餓，餓上兩天你就不會有力氣在出去，我們就等於死在了這里。」
【解釋2】吳邪和胖子和小哥三人的困境：a food scarcity。
5. prattle=babble 閑扯
【原文】胖子嘆氣道：「可惜沒法上去看看，不然也許長生不老葯就在上面。咱們吃個一打，也直接上月亮上去，不知道嫦娥最近混得怎麼樣。」
我拍了一下胖子，嘆氣道：「你終於露出馬腳了，天蓬元帥，難怪我看你得體形這么面熟。」
【解釋】小哥永遠不會乾的事情，吳邪和胖子永遠在乾的事情，就是prattle。

When I got home, it was very dark. Why? There is no electric. Every year in Beijing, there is lack of electric to supply. Because there are a lot of factories. And it is very cold in winter.
