On this day, people usually get together with their families and have a nice meal. After that, people always eat delicious moon cakes, and watch the moon. 忽然，草原上傳來一陣悅耳動聽的笛聲，笛聲隨著徐徐的晚風，變幻莫測，時而近，時而遠，時而清晰，時而模糊，若隱若現，雲絲曼妙輕舞猶如天籟，天色漸漸晚了，牧童拿著鞭子輕輕打在牛羊們的身上，牛羊們都像聽了命令一樣，召集過來，回家的路上，牧童一會兒坐在牛背上搖晃著吹笛子；一會兒又下來捉捉蝴蝶，一會兒又數羊夠不夠，一會又逗逗水中的魚兒。
到了家門口，早已看見媽媽已經做好飯在家等著他呢！牧童的肚子早已唱起了「空城計」他奔向家，斗笠不摘，蓑衣不脫，就拿起一個饅頭，狼吞虎咽地吃起來。吃完以後拿起自己心愛的笛子回到原野上，躺在一塊軟軟的草坪上聞到了青草的芳香，聽見風吹著樹葉「沙沙」的聲音，看見幾只螢火蟲飛來飛去，和皎潔的月光，看著看著，他陷入了幻想，我未來還是一個放牧的，啊？星星上有人住嗎？真想上月亮上和嫦娥玉兔玩耍；長大能成為一個音樂家嗎？想著想著，他進入了夢想，夢見了長大後成了一位名揚四海的音樂家，和嫦娥還有玉兔在月亮上玩耍……詩人呂岩十分羨慕，不禁讀起這首詩：草鋪橫野六七里，笛弄晚風三四聲。歸來飽飯黃昏後，不脫蓑衣卧月明。
