習慣是什麼？詞典上講，習慣是在長時間里逐漸養成的、不容易改變的行為。可見，習慣是一種養成，是一種比較確定的思想和行為方式。總結我這三年的體會，我想跟大家說，初中三年最要緊的，是養成好習慣，克服壞習慣。
先說學習的習慣。
第一要刻苦，要捨得花時間。每天保證一定的學習時間，養成習慣。誰也不是天才，不可能不學就會。我們這些參加數學競賽的同學，做過的習題不計其數。簡單地講，要取得好成績，數理化是做題做出來的，英語是背單詞背課文背出來的，語文是多讀多寫出來的。時間是「抓」出來的，每天一個小時，可以干很多事。20分鍾可以背30個英語單詞，20分鍾可以讀1~2篇好的散文，我給大家算個數字：每天背10個單詞，加上復習不超過10分鍾，三年下來就是一萬多，考托福都有富裕。有些事情你覺得難，其實很簡單，只要你堅持做，積累起來，效果絕對超過你的想像。
第二要講究方法，要少走或者不走彎路。你再用力，花的時間再多，如果方法不對，盡走彎路，效果也不好，還會影響信心，打擊自己的積極性。怎麼才能不走彎路呢？首先起點要對，養成一件事從開始就把它做正確的習慣，不要稀里糊塗，不假思索地就開始，等發現錯了再改，肯定浪費時間。其次標准要高，養成一下子把事情做到位的習慣。比如學數學，學了概念和公式不一定會做題，會做題了未必能講明白，如果你按照能參加數學競賽或者能講明白的標准去學數學，那麼在考試中取得好成績是沒有問題的。而且，我的體會是，用高標准學習和用低標准學習所用的時間是差不多的，可結果卻差很多。

第一是從小事做起，注意細節。
一個人的習慣好不好，素質高不高，往往反映在小事上。要明辨是非，隨時提醒自己。比如，注意自己的站相、坐相、走相、吃相，注意每一次作業或考試書寫的工整，注意待人接物的禮儀，等等。一開始可能有點兒「累」，但用不了多久，你就習慣了，而且讓你一輩子受益。
第二是開好頭不開壞頭。
習慣是通過過程養成的，而過程都有開頭。只要是想好了准備做的事，就要果斷地開頭，不要拖，不要等。比如：我打算背單詞了，好！開始背。我打算寫日記了，好！開始寫。一段時間以後，你覺得它已經成為你生活的一部分了，甚至沒有什麼覺得不覺得，到時候就自然而然地去做了，好習慣就養成了。相反，壞事千萬別開頭。因為開了頭就會對自己放縱了。

第五是不找借口。
