Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822)

English Romantic poet who rebelled against English politics and conservative values. Shelley was considered with his friend Lord Byron a pariah for his life style. He drew no essential distinction between poetry and politics, and his work reflected the radical ideas and revolutionary optimism of the era. Like many poets of his day, Shelley employed mythological themes and figures from Greek poetry that gave an exalted tone for his visions.

雪萊簡介：雪萊，P. B.（Percy Bysshe Shelley，1792～1822）英國著名民主詩人。出身鄉村地主家庭，20歲入牛津大學，因寫反宗教的哲學論文被學校開除。投身社會後，又因寫詩歌鼓動英國人民革命及支持愛爾蘭民族民主運動，而被迫於1818年遷居義大利。在義大利，他仍積極支持義大利人民的民族解放斗爭，1822年渡海遇風暴不幸船沉溺死。
雪萊是跟拜倫齊名的歐洲著名浪漫主義詩人。其作品熱情而富哲理思辨，詩風自由不羈，常任天上地下、時間空間、神怪精靈往來變幻馳騁，又慣用夢幻象徵手法和遠古神話題材。其最優秀的作品有評論人間事物的長詩《仙後麥布》(1813)，描寫反封建起義的幻想性抒情故事詩《伊斯蘭的反叛》（1818），控訴曼徹斯特大屠殺的政治詩《暴政的行列》（1819），支持義大利民族解放斗爭的政治詩《自由頌》（1820），表現革命熱情及勝利信念的《西風頌》（1819），以及取材於古希臘神話，表現人民反暴政勝利後瞻望空想社會主義前景的代表詩劇《解放了的普羅米修斯》（1819）等。
雪萊浪漫主義理想的終極目標就是創造一個人人享有自由幸福的新世界。他設想自己是日夜飛翔的夭使、飄浮藍空的雲朵、翱翔太空的雲雀，乃至深秋季節的西風，是新世界理想的傳播者、歌頌者、號召者。他以美麗的語言、豐富的想像描繪了這個新世界的絢麗畫面，而且豪邁地預言：「如果冬天已經來臨，春天還會遠嗎？」 因此，恩格斯贊美雪菜是「天才的預言家」。
雪萊是英國卓越的積極浪漫主義詩人。他和聲名顯赫的拜倫，被公認為是十九世紀英國詩壇的兩顆巨星。英國人提起他們的名字，就如同我們談到李白和杜甫一樣。

《Tomorrow will be better》，即《明天會更好》的英文版，該歌曲由ATT-9多重合唱團演唱。

《明天會更好》由中國台灣群星演唱的歌曲，由羅大佑、張大春、李壽全、邱復生、徐乃勝、張艾嘉、詹宏志作詞，羅大佑作曲，陳志遠編曲，收錄在1985年發行的單曲專輯中。2005年，該曲再次收錄在為「印度洋海嘯大災難」製作的專輯《真情暖人間》中。2008年11月15日，羅大佑憑借該曲獲得第六屆東南勁爆音樂榜華語樂壇傑出貢獻獎。

1986年是世界和平年，《明天會更好》的創作者們希望模仿《We Are The World》群星為公益而唱的模式，來呼應世界和平年的主題。於是，羅大佑、張艾嘉等台灣歌手共同創作了這首歌曲，並出面召集了中國台灣、香港、新加坡以及馬來西亞等地共60位華人歌手共同演唱。
